Glossybox November 2015

Hello everyone!  Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Between preparing for Thanksgiving and a house full of sickness (that turned in to a super fun double eye infection for me) I have found it hard to get back in to the swing of things!  I’m feeling better now, Thanksgiving is over and my home is fully decorated to my Christmas/Holiday standards.. now to get back in to my routine; plenty of reviews and posts to come!  I have many great limited edition Holiday sets and subscription boxes to review as well as more makeup, beauty, nail and subscription boxes.  My ‘Glow’vember giveaway ends November 3oth (11:59 Pacific) so you still have a couple of days to enter if you have not yet done so!  (Link at bottom of page)  Good Luck!

Today I will be reviewing my November Glossybox.  (There are generally a few variations in products) Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that boasts 5 luxury beauty products each month, wrapped up in a lovely pink box. The products are often full sized, if not; they are deluxe sized samples. The cost of the subscription is 21.00 per month with free shipping.

Glossybox has a classic monthly box but often does a special edition or collab/partner edition that replaces their regular box.  These boxes generally have a unique box with special artwork or are labeled with the partnering brands/company’s logos etc. They are specially curated to fit the theme or contain some of the most popular brands/products spotlighted by said partnering brands/companies.  I get really excited for these boxes. (The October 2015 box was one of these ‘types’ of Glossyboxes.)  The special edition boxes alone are often great for display or re-use in some way or another.  In addition to these unique monthly versions Glossybox also curates special, limited edition, [additional] one time purchase boxes, ie: Holiday, Mothers day etc. (you can scroll through the past boxes here -just scroll down the linked page a bit to view past boxes.) * If it does not have a month in the title than it is a special edition one time, additional purchase box, other wise it was the box included in your subscription.

I just recently received my Special Edition Holiday (2015) Glossybox and will be reviewing it very soon.  P.S. It’s awesome and an incredible value!

…and now on to November’s box.  I was pretty underwhelmed at first sight of this month’s box but there were some good products and it does appear after sampling each item; I will be using all of them.

The Box:

Glossybox November 2015

The Goods:

florapy Masks

Flora-py: Floral Therapy Facial Sheet – Full size (.80 oz. 1 mask) $8.00

I was most excited about this product and had to try it the very evening that I received it.  I have a lot of these sheet style masks but nothing with an aromatherapy essence in a relax themed mask.  I loved it.  First of all I didn’t bother reading the directions prior as I assumed it was a sheet that I simply slapped on ‘muh face’ 🙂  This one was a bit different.  It’s kind of a thick silicon gel like sheet with a backing on each side.  You are meant to peel the protective films off each side and then position it on your face, leaving on for 15-20 minutes while you relax.  I only peeled off the backing from one side and then positioned it serum side to my face before I realized the mask itself was actually not paper, but a silicon gel-like mask, so I removed all paper and enjoyed my experience. The mask felt pleasant and I preferred it over other sheet masks I have tried.  My skin felt nice following the treatment and I definitely plan to try many more of this brand’s masks.  Good news: if you head to their website you can automatically receive 20% off of your first purchase upon signing up via email!

crabtree and evelyn

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Ultra Moisturizing Hand Therapy: Available in 3 sizes from $9.00-$32.00 This is the 0.9 oz tube $9.00:

I once had little care for hand creme, now I use it like crazy…throughout the day, keep a tube on my nightstand, next to the hand soap…you get it.  C&E hand creams are always nice, ultra nourishing and moisturizing and this one boasts a nice marine scent that I love.

beauty for real

Beauty For Real D-fine Perfect Lip Pencil: Full size .012 oz $14.00

I do not believe that I have ever heard of this brand prior to receiving this lip liner but this is a really great product.  Lip liner is one thing I never buy…the few that I do own have been received through subs and are rarely used.  The formulas and/or colors just never pan out for me.  This product is a totally different experience for me.  This is a nude shade that is identical to the natural shade of my lips.  The formula glides on perfectly and allows me to enhance my lips shape/size in a mostly undetectable way.  I was truly impressed with this and feel like I have a new lip product to give me the ‘pout’ I wish I had!

Marsk eyeshadow

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘you’re toast’:  I believe this to be the full sized version shown on the website (1.2 grams 22.50)  [The Glossybox info card has 24.00 with a comparable amount in 0z.]

I did not expect to care much for this product being a lose pigment shadow so I waited until just recently to even try it out.  (I forgot to remove the protective film prior to photographing so what looks to be the shade above is quite inaccurate.  The link [in blue] above will take you straight to the product showing its true shade.)  It is actually a really nice shadow.  I’ve heard little of this brand but found the product to go on really smoothly without being messy.  I really love the shade for an everyday look too so this shadow ended up finding a home in my drawer of eyeshadow singles that I often use.  Yay!

estee lauder revitalizing supreme

Estēe Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme: This is a deluxe Sample (.17 oz) 1 0z is $50.00

Estēe Lauder cremes and anti-aging products are good stuff, rich, emollient…I have a hard time sticking with just one of them for a really prolonged amount of time, which may better determine if they are the go-to in anti-aging in comparison to others…but I use them.  I find them to be hydrating, smoothing and non-irritating.  Works for me.  They are pricey too so it’s nice that I never have to purchase any of these types of anti aging products outside of my subscriptions.  I’m totally stocked!
