Allure Beauty Box November 2015

Hey, Kids!

Today I will be reviewing the November  Allure Beauty Box.

For $15.00 per month you will receive a box containing 5 or more deluxe sized beauty products from today’s most luxurious brands.

One of my favorite things about the Allure Beauty Box is how carefully it is curated and the awesome little mini mag that is included in each box.  It gives excellent descriptions and tips for each item in the box with a descriptive and down to earth introduction to the boxes content.  I love the beauty directors honest representation of each product.

*If you read my June review you will notice that it is a bit different than that of this and the past several months.  What was once Allure/Sample Society and affiliated with BeautyBar.com has underwent a change and has now been rebranded as the ‘Allure Beauty Box‘.  I’ve been loving all of the boxes under the new branding and really look forward to receiving it each month!

The Beauty Box:

Allure Beauty Box Nov

The Goods:

Loccitane

L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil: (Deluxe Sample) 1 oz is $106.00

I have been LOVING getting these mini, luxurious, high end oils and/or serums for the past several months, they have become part of my nightly routine, prior to moisturizing, every evening.  Some oils I’ve tried in the past have been too heavy and seemed to clog my pores and break me out.  I’ve had much better luck lately. 🙂 Any little fine lines or flaws are much more prominent on dry, flaky skin and this ultra light oil is helping quite a bit.  It’s a nice, light, non greasy oil, with a nice light scent that absorbs quickly.  It gets rave reviews and I can see why.  I may have to splurge on this.  A tiny bit goes a long way so I find the cost justified in how long it will last.

Verbena and Lavender Crabtree & Evelyn

Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena & Lavender De Provence Bath & Shower Gel: This is a travel size 1.7 oz $6.00,  Full size gel is 8.5 oz $22.00

I have enough travel sized shower gels, thanks to my stays at the W hotel in the City, and their Bliss Spa products, to keep guests for many years so I initially felt a bit blah about this product.  It smells so much better than I expected, the verbena keeps the lavender from being to dominant and vice versa.  As stated in the Allure mag it somehow manages to be a pick me up by morning as well as a relaxing and unwinding product by evening.  I love it and must have it.  It’s not a super foamy shower gel but it seems to calm my skin and the scent is to die for.

Mally Beauty

Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick:  This is Full size, $20.00

I have had the pleasure of learning about Mally Beauty due to a search for a particular product via Birchbox.  It’s a great brand with lovely packaging.  I’ve only tried 3 different products thus far but have loved each that I have.  I REALLY wish I’d have gotten a different color than what I did as it’s dark and not a color I will wear often but the gloss itself I adore.  It’s not a stay all day kind of product, it’s a gloss, a nicely pigmented one, but a gloss nonetheless.  I really like the formula and the applicator, made for precision, is the best I’ve used.  I wish all of my glosses had it.  You can really paint on the perfect lip with this stuff!

*The allure Mini mag suggests to shop Mally Beauty at Ulta but when you chose the high-shine liquid lipstick there it shows a pen lip product, similar to the Stila glosses.  I wanted to note this, just for the record, as this product I received is not like that.  It has a separate applicator wand.  I’m unsure what’s up with this!

Klorane Floral

Klorane Floral Eye Make-up Remover: This is a deluxe size sample, Full size 6.7 oz product is $16.00

This is another awesome brand I learned of thanks to Subscription boxes.  Love their dry shampoo and crazy about their under eye patches so I was happy to try this.  My eyes are as sensitive as can be and this held up to its end of the deal by being a gentle eye makeup remover.  Works great, smells lovely.

Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity: This is a deluxe sample, full size, 150ml is $25.00 available at salons Kevinmurphy.com.au

This is a lightweight volumizing serum meant to be raked throughout the length of your hair and not on your scalp (good news for those with oily hair) This serum is meant to give you bounce and volume after blow drying your hair.  I did not try this product myself.  My hair needs product that give the opposite of volume so this stuff just simply isn’t for me and I plan to gift it to my fine, and straight haired sister!  Did you try this product?  How did it work for you?

Hanae Mori

Hanae by Hanae Mori: Sample vial, full size is $92.00 for 1.7 oz

This scent is described as “laden with candy and fruit notes” and that is precisely what it is to me: Too Sweet, not a fan myself but scents are quite hard to review.  I can say, for certain, it’s a sweet, girly scent.  If you do not like sweet scents it’s not for you…if you do, you just may love it. 🙂

Thanks for Reading!

Until Next Time…
