For those of you that are new to the game:
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.
I have been a member for more than 2 years and I absolutely love it. I have discovered so many excellent products through Ipsy! I may not always love everything I receive but for only 10.00 a month it is such a fun surprise to look forward to each month! Ipsy spotlights numerous brands each month and you will generally receive something from 5 of them! In addition to the products received you will get discount codes from most brands…even the ones that you do not receive! This months’ discounts include but are not limited to: Crown Brush, Demeter, It Cosmetics, Josie Maran, Model Co…the discounts range between 10% -50% off purchase (averaging at 20-25%) and are occasionally a dollar amount. They sometimes include a gift with purchase.
Ipsy also offers curated sets and other products throughout the month that can be purchased at a special price! I LOVE THESE!
Another perk is the point system. You can review your bag and items each month to save points for additional products! Unfortunately though; for the past 2 months I have been having a lot of trouble with the Ipsy site in their review section and have been unable to complete any product review thus not receiving any of my Ipsy points. I’m quite frustrated about this b/c I really wanted the Glam Glow product currently available. I have an email in regarding this matter and am waiting to hear back! [IT] Operations is important people!
Ipsy also has a giveaways section. Every month, you can win AMAZING hauls from their Glam Bag partners..and let me tell you there are SO many great ones each month…This month there are contest/giveaways from Benefit Cosmetics, IT Cosmetics, Tarte, Pacifica (I entered this one, fingers crossed! Please like my entry photo on instagram) and many more!
So go ahead, take the beauty quiz, get your first Glam Bag, watch the videos, and create your own!
The Goods:
Pacifica Power of Love Natural Lipstick in ‘Nudie Red’: This product is full size and $10.00
I will begin with my very favorite product from this month’s bag; The Pacifica Lipstick. This was the spoiler for the December bag and the product that every subscriber received. I am uncertain if everyone received the same shade but the shade I received is: ‘Nudie Red’ and I love it. It has great pigment and a satin, not too matte finish that feels nice on my lips. The scent is not the greatest but it’s not offensive and doesn’t bother me any. *This lipstick is packed with all the vitamins and antioxidants your lips crave. Made with coconut oil, shea butter, and vitamin E. Formulated without animal ingredients (including carmine, beeswax and lanolin) or animal testing, FD&C colors, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, petroleum, propylene glycol, SLS, gluten, peanut oil and other ingredients you don’t want on your skin. *per Pacifica’s site. I’m a big fan of Pacifica products. I love all of the products that I have tried and this year they have come out with so many great new products! There are so many products I want to try!

Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in ‘Revved Up’: This is a Nail Polish Mini, Full size is $10.50
Sephora’s Formula X Polishes are a nice formula with a good range of shades and finishes. This rose gold shade is fun, festive and totally trendy right now. I happened to just receive a very similar shade by Trust Fund beauty that I adore and my sister really wanted this polish in her glam bag so in lieu of trying and swatching this polish I am going to give it to her instead. 🙂
Peter Lamas Intensive Repair hand Cream: Travel size, Full size is $21.00
This is a nicely scented, thick, rich hand cream with lasting hydration. It isn’t a greasy formula and works great on any ultra dry area of your body, ie: elbows, knees… I own a lot of hand creams and this is one of the better formulas I own. I find it is a good night time hand cream/treatment.
Klorane Floral Water eye Makeup remover: Travel Size $10.00
I already own the lotion version of this and personally, for eye makeup removing prefer the pre moistened eye makeup remover towelettes and pads. My favorite is the Tarte fresh eyes Maracuja towelettes, but this works well and I enjoy the light floral scent, it’s fine for sensitive eyes like mine and does not leave a residue like some of the oilier eye makeup removers.
Be a Bombshell Automatic Eyeliner in Wild Child: Full Size $5.00 (sale price)
Ok; so, everyone has that brand they just do not like. This is one of mine. Ipsy has consistently sent products from this brand from day 1 and I just do not get why. A couple items I have received from this brand have been OK but nothing much that I would use. To me, they are on par with a low end drugstore product and this eyeliner is of very poor quality. It isn’t really even fair to compare them to most lower end drugstore products b/c I can get a good quality eyeliner from E.L.F for as little a $1.00. This is more comparable to if eyeliner went back in time, to the early 90’s, or whenever mechanical eyeliners first came out, with their hard, poorly textured, low pigmented twist up product…we used them, b/c we were sick of sharpening our eyeliners, and those were equally as hard and often hurt our sensitive eyes…but we do not have to settle for that anymore. This product in ‘wild child is described as a bold black but as you can see from my swatch it is anything but. Definitely do not waste your money or time on this product.
