Hey everyone! Welcome to another Glam Bag review!
This month’s theme is: All eyes on you
The bag has a bright, multi-colored, pop art like print
Below is a shot of my January bag:
(I also received a Beau Gâchis smudge brush, but I immediately started using it and forgot it in my photo. I will include it below)
For those of you that are new to the game:
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.
I have been a member for more than 2 years and I absolutely love it. I have discovered so many excellent products through Ipsy! I may not always love everything I receive but for only 10.00 a month it is such a fun surprise to look forward to each month! Ipsy spotlights numerous brands each month and you will generally receive something from 5 of them! In addition to the products received you will get discount codes from most brands…even the ones that you do not receive! This months’ discounts include but are not limited to: Crown Brush, Demeter, It Cosmetics, Josie Maran, Model Co…the discounts range between 10% -50% off purchase (averaging at 20-25%) and are occasionally a dollar amount. They sometimes include a gift with purchase.
Ipsy also offers curated sets and other products throughout the month that can be purchased at a special price! I LOVE THESE!
Another perk is the point system. You can review your bag and items each month to save points for additional products!
Ipsy also has a giveaways section. Every month, you can win AMAZING hauls from their Glam Bag partners..and let me tell you there are SO many great ones each month…This month there are contest/giveaways from Pixi, Hada Lobo, Klorane, TheBalm, Hey Honey and many more!
So go ahead, take the beauty quiz, get your first Glam Bag, watch the videos, and create your own!
J.Cat Beauty Blinkle Shimmer Eyeshadow in Tangerine Light: Product is full size and $4.99
I have received several items from this brand since joining Ipsy and have not really liked anything from them. This eyeshadow really surprised me though. I’d not likely ever choose this shade myself but it looks pretty good on. The pigment is excellent and the texture has a velvety, buttery smooth feel to it. It can also be used with a wet brush for a foil-like finish.
Swatch
the Balm Cosmetics Mr. Write (now): Product is Full size and $17.00
Everyone who subscribes to Ipsy received this eyeliner this month in one of two shades: Jac B Bronze (shown above) or Scott B Bordeaux. I was hoping for the bordeaux version. The shade is unique but also dark enough for my liking. I can’t see myself getting much use at of this shade. 😦 The product itself is OK, not quite as smooth and creamy as I prefer, but good and the built in sharpener is nice as typically auto eyeliners only have a super fine point your first two uses.
Hada Labo Tokyo Express Renewal Eye Mask: Two Single use packets $?
I love under eye masks, they are a nice refreshing pick me up in the morning and a good way to soothe and smooth your under eye area. These are nice and I am glad they included two packages..unfortunately the site/brand that carries them doesn’t have them listed, only the full face version. I can’t seem to find them elsewhere either so I’ve no idea of a value or way to repurchase.
Beau Gâchis® Paris Smudge Brush: Full Sized Brush $12.00
And here is the brush I forgot in my photo! 😉 This is a good quality smudge brush and I am really digging it for blending and smoking my eye looks! My eye brush collection has really expanded, thanks to Ipsy and I’m not complaining.
Aveeno Daily Moisturzing Lotion: Travel size $?
(photo courtesy of Ipsy Site) This was a total blah item for me. I get these free from the Dr. and Derm and sometimes randomly in the mail. There’s nothing wrong with the product, some people love it but when I am looking for a serious dry skin relieving product for my body, this one doesn’t cut it for me. I prefer FAB (First Aid Beauty) or Skinfix.
This bag had a really good value and I was able to try some things I likely would not have yet ended up liking, received some nice under eye masks and a great new brush; can’t complain.
