Hi! I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday…or as we call it at my house; pre-Monday. 😉 Today I have the new & gorgeously designed, limited-edition tarteist blush palette. The palette itself, with its bright, multi colored brushstroke design is really begging to become a part of your collection, based on packaging alone. If you are a blush fan, especially one of tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-hour wear blushes then this new palette featuring 4 new & limited edition blush shades is worth a look!
Tarteist Limited Edition Blush Palette: $38.00
Above are the shade swatches. The shade descriptions are as follows:
Limited-edition shades include:
live (poppy coral)
laugh (peachy coral)
love (nude mauve)
dream (soft fuchsia)
I’d say these shade descriptions are pretty accurate. Laugh does have the tiniest bit of shimmer to it though. Tarte describes these shades as ‘warm neutrals’ but I, personally would consider them cool to neutral, especially live & Dream. I do however, think these will work on most skin tones, even much darker complexions as they are extremely pigmented and can be deepened easily. (I have to apply lightly and blend in order to keep it as subtle as I prefer.) If you are very fair you may want to very lightly dab your brush in to the pan and apply to your face. You can always add more to deepen the shade but a full swipe might be too intense. These shades do blend out well & very easily. The swatches below were achieved with a swipe of my finger. The wear on these blushes was really good and lasted through the day on my combo skin with only some fading. This, for me, was about 9 or 10 hours. If you own any of the Amazonian Clay singles and are curious how the versions in this palette compare to those, here is what I have found:
The singles that I own seem to have a bit harder of a consistency, a little more smooth and slick on the surface. The blushes in this palette have a ton of product pick up and produce quite a bit of powder/dust when dragging your brush through the product. It is not dry at all or chalky though, the pigment is amazing, it’s just a bit messy (so you are informed..and careful.) and a bit different seeming formula than that of the permanent products in collection.
Another look at the swatches below:
My verdict? I think this is a great palette. A gorgeous design for the serial palette collector and an excellent formula for the serious blush fans. The shade quad contains a mix of nice summery shades that may differ from any blush palettes you purchased prior and I think a lot of people, (especially those without very fair/light complexions) may actually prefer the formula in this palette to the individual Amazonian clay blush versions. They do look really nice on very light skin, you just need to go light with your application technique. While I do not know for certain how they will work or appear on very dark skin tones, they are very pigmented and seem to build quite easily and stay when doing so. I think that $38.00 is a pretty great deal for this palette and that anyone considering it won’t likely regret the purchase. The palette is currently sold out at Tarte.com, but is still available at both Sephora & Ulta.
I’d love to hear your thoughts & comments!

Ah! I know. I went a bit crazy over the rainforest of the sea line…and I do love most of it! I’ve still got reviews on those items in the works. Tarte is running a special today (only) for mother’s day…chose a bag, 5 full sized products AND a brush for $59.00 Fantastic deal! It does include some of their new foundations as well as some of their classic items in the choices. I so do not need it but I totally already created it..you know, just in case 😉

It is! I looked to Sephora for mini’s to start! They put together a few different sets. I’m loving the lippies in the line for my perpetually dry lips!

HAHA! I know the feeling. Despite it being easy for me to pop in a Sephora and try a lot of things, I find actually being inside one completely overwhelming. It’s so bizarre, it’s like, they pack SO many things in such a small amount of space and I usually forget what I actually came to try…then I get sidetracked by things I’ve never seen before and I usually leave with nothing! LOL I do 99% of my shopping online. Ultas are less overwhelming so I do purchase in store there and also drugstores..everything else, online!

Thank you!!! I can too which actually surprised me. I am SO picky with blush items. It’s a great palette for any blush junky, but it’s also great for anyone, like me that is not and wants one good palette with several options! Plus; it is sooooo pretty!

Haha. This was one of my ‘Sephora Sale’ purchases. It had just come out and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t snag it on a whim b/c of the packaging!
