Well, we’ve made it through Monday and here we are! Is it weird that I dislike Tuesdays even more so than Mondays? Today also happens to be a random gloomy Tuesday which does nothing for me in the motivation department. OK, that’s not entirely true; gloomy days motivate me to pull a quilt up to my chin and watch Law & Order re-runs… and nap.
If only.
I’m pretty addicted to bronzers so whenever I see a new one, I buy it. And this day, with its sunless sky, is the perfect day to dust myself in a nice faux glow, mostly so I’ll actually leave the house.
There has not been too much as far as new products go in the drugstore world since early this year. Because I’m always at one, I’m always looking and last week I spotted a new display featuring these super sized bronzers by L’Oréal.
Limited Edition L’Oréal Glam Bronze for Face & Body: around $13.00…
Though you cannot necessarily tell from the above photo this bronzer is an oversized version designed for use on the face & the body. Below I’ve placed it next to a standard face bronzer so you can see how they compare .
The nice part about this particular bronzer is that it is not a one sized fits all version but actually comes in light, medium and dark shades. I purchased the medium shade as light shades generally do not do all that much for me as far as summer time bronzing goes. The Medium shade would likely be suitable for most anyone but if you are very pale you have a lighter option. If your skin is already medium to tan you may want to go for the dark shade. The bronzer has a hint of glimmer which you can likely see next to the matte version on the right and a bit of gold sparkle as well, not a ton, but it’s there. I don’t mind this, I use different types for different times but I know some really dislike any sparkle. I took my swatch photos in natural light and you can’t really detect it but in other lighting throughout my home, you could. The bronzer applies and blends great on the face and body for a quick glow and was easy to build and deepen on the body. The tone of this bronzer was nice and as you can see, similar to the UD version on the right but, when I built it up on my face it did begin to look a bit more orangey than I prefer. I keep my face pretty sun protected so it’s always lighter than the rest of me. As long as I go easy on this, it works for my face but I really prefer it as more of a body bronzer: neck, chest, other exposed areas of the upper body and a little glow here and there. Not a bad purchase. I believe this product is pretty new as I can’t really find any links for it currently. I snagged mine at a Rite Aid but assume it will be popping up at all drugstores in the near future so keep your eyes out if you are interested!
Below are some swipes and blended swatches in different lighting.
