Hey everyone! Welcome to another Glam Bag review!
This month’s theme is: Destination Chic
Greetings from CA! This bag is too fun. I love that it is an envelope style, (though I wish I’d have received the blue version). I’m using mine to house my heaping pile of foundation samples b/c I have so many and I never know where specific (foil pack) samples are, to actually try them. I’ve now categorized them all; because I am nutty.
Below is a shot of my May bag:
I’m crushing on my own photo; because it is also, super fun.
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.
I have been a member for more than 3 years and I absolutely love it. I have discovered so many excellent products through Ipsy! I may not always love everything I receive but for only 10.00 a month it is such a fun surprise to look forward to each month! Ipsy spotlights numerous brands each month and you will generally receive something from 5 of them! In addition to the products received you will get discount codes from most brands…even the ones that you do not receive! This months’ discounts include but are not limited to: Biossance, Pacifica, Jersey Shore cosmetics, Smashbox, Peek Cosmetics, Juliette has a gun, treat beauty and many more, the discounts range between 10% -50% off purchase (averaging at 20-25%) and are occasionally a dollar amount. They sometimes include a gift with purchase.
Ipsy also offers curated sets and other products throughout the month that can be purchased at a special price! I LOVE THESE! Current set specials available are from: everything is currently sold out at the moment but check back (at Ipsy’s site) often for new deals.
Another perk is the point system. You can review your bag and items each month to save points for additional products!

So go ahead, take the beauty quiz, get your first Glam Bag, watch the videos, and create your own!
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm: Product is full size $21.50
For me, this is one of those Ipsy Jackpot items. A full size, pricey lip treatment balm, that actually delivers. I am really digging this stuff! It works really good at soothing and repairing my dry, cracked lips and after just a couple of uses. It feels ultra soft and soothing on my lips and smells really good, a bit of oranges. The balm is filled with all kinds of good for you natural ingredients designed to plump, nourish and retain the moisture you need while giving your lips a smoother more youthful appearance. Good stuff.
eva .nyc Hungry Hair Oil Treatment: Deluxe sample size, full size is $20.00
My long, thick, dry hair sucks up hair oils like mad and I always use them. While I typically do not care to receive hair care items and I have enough dry shampoo at this juncture to never wash my hair again; hair oils, I go though really quickly so I’m totally cool receiving them. This one smells particularly delicious and works pretty well. I’ve also used the hair mask from this brand and liked it as well. The brand is not too pricey and it’s easy to find available at multiple retailers like: Walgreens, Target, Urban Outfitters…to name a few.
Smashbox Cosmetics X-Rated Mascara: Deluxe Sample/Travel Size: $10-$12.00, full size is $22.00
This is a pretty good mascara that gives pretty good results and while I like it enough to finish the product it isn’t one I will re-purchase. It gives me both some extra length and volume but nothing spectacular (for me) The product packaging allows too much product to remain on the brush when removing it so you have to scrape some off to avoid mega clumps, which is messy. I also thought the formula took too long to dry on my lashes, leaving them wet, which is a sometimes mascara trait that always bugs me.
Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow Trio: Product is full size and $12.00
Pacifica is another great, natural brand that I really love and I like that Ipsy often includes their products in glam bags. I would love to receive some pacifica fragrance items in futre bags but will definitely take advantage of the Ipsy/Pacifica 20% off code and snag some of the roll on fragrances to try, as Ulta seems to always be out of most scents. This eyeshadow trio smells really nice and I am always impressed with the formula of Pacifica’s inexpensive, natural, eyeshadows. The pigment is good and the texture is excellent, soft and smooth, not powdery or dry.

Swatches achieved with a few finger swipes on bare arm.
Bellá Pierre Gel Lip Liner in Nude: Product is full size $18.00
This product is waterproof and has excellent staying power. The gel formula allows it to glide on super smooth and the nude shade is rosy and my perfect preference, it’s similar to my natural lip shade and helps me define my lips and hold my lip color. I do not use lip liners very often, but this is a nice product to have when I want to.
I really liked this months Ipsy. The bag itself, the fun theme and a great mix of products. the value of mine was excellent too, at more than $60.00. Not too shabby for a $10.00 sub!
