My second dose of Pink Seoul has arrived and I’ve finally had enough time to incorporate some of the products in to my routine. Pink Seoul is a K-beauty (Korean Beauty) company that recently launched in March. I have been excited about receiving & reviewing my second box since receiving my first and falling in love with so many of the products, many which I’ve inserted in to my nightly routine and have had some really positive results. This particular beauty sub boasts many great aspects in addition to the fabulous products that they send each month. What sealed it for me is your ability to customize the box based on your skin (and they actually follow it, it’s not just a mere ‘suggestion’ like with Birchbox and Ipsy) So; no more receiving strange shades that don’t fit your skin color, products for oily skin when yours is dry..etc etc. On top of the customizing option for each box they also have several different box options to chose from, including the popular bi-monthly choice with full sized products. (this is what I currently subscribe to.) They also have a monthly mask box (not just sheet masks) and a box tailored to 35+ (I think this is a first, right?) All excellent options! Commitment phobe? They also have some nice one time purchase, specially curated boxes and many individual items that have been spotlighted in their boxes.

The Skincare
Illi Fresh Moisture Sun Cream: Product is full size $19.00
First thing’s first; this month’s box’ spotlight is: Sun Protection. Like it or not the tanning and the lounging in the sunshine, to achieve that golden brown glow; it takes a huge toll on your skin. I know, especially when you are really young, the desire to have that summer glow and the feeling that your skin and overall ”looks’ are better with a dark tan, believe me. (especially in the US) I also know the whole thought process of: I’m young, I’ll worry about it later, thinking of only ‘right now’ etc. etc. I too went through the need to be ultra tan phase. Luckily, I was always too terrified of wrinkles [and freckles] to really tan my face so I always wore sun protection and covered my face with a towel when tanning. My face was always much, much lighter than the rest of me, (still is) but hey, that’s what bronzer and facial self tanners are for, right? Trust me when I say; when you get to be my age, you will be able to tell the difference between those in your age group that were avid tanners and those that were not… All this being said I wish I could go back and take better care of myself in practically every way, but it’s not too late to start. Skin cancer is a scary thing, so protect yourself from it however you can. Illi’s suncream has a light peach tint that gives your skin a glowy finish. It’s lightweight and can replace your day moisturizer if worried about too many product layers. It’s not thick and greasy like sunscreens of the past and I found it surprisingly fresh and comfortable. I typically stick to sunscreen/setting mists that can be applied and re-applied as needed and have a dual purpose, for fear of a heavy pore clogging sunscreen causing breakouts and oil slick skin. This one is so light and has such a nice citrusy scent that it is actually a pleasant sun protection to wear. This sunscreen has an SPF of 50+ . Secret Key Starting Eye Treatment Eye Cream: Product is Full Size $15.00
By the description it is assumed that this is an eye cream meant as a ‘first eye cream’ to be used prior to and at the earliest signs of aging. Of all the K beauty products I already use in my daily routines and others that I’ve tried, this is my first eye cream from a Korean brand. This eye cream contains Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, a natural yeast extract full of amino acids, enzymes and anti-oxidants. This acts as a moisture barrier with anti-inflammatory properties. ‘Ferment beauty’ is something commonly heard in K beauty. The skin does not produce its own enzymes and by fermenting the good for you products packed in your skin care, it supposedly makes these ingredients more effective and more easily absorbed. They are also rumored to be better suited for dry & sensitive skin. This cream also contains Niacinamide, for its skin brightening properties (and pesky spots!) as well as Adenosine for aiding in increased elasticity and anti-aging. While I was a bit skeptical of this cream’s ability to fit my needs, being a ‘starting eye cream’, its qualities really surprised me. I’ve been fairly lucky in the eye department but I’d still generally chose something described as potent or similar. This eye cream is like a gel/cream/serum hybrid, in its consistency is thick, rich and emollient leaving my eye area instantly more smooth, supple and fully moisturized. I was both pleased and surprised at the effectiveness of this eye cream for both the low cost and the very large size. (product is sized more like a face cream as opposed to your standard eye cream. While I can not say if this product will produce on those with significant eye area wrinkles and crows feet; I do think the dose of moisture it offers is worth a shot especially if applied over a more potent serum. Nice Product.

Skin & Lab Vitamin E Plus Moisturizing Cream: Product is Full size $25.00
This is a one in a series of vitamin creams designed to provide specific focus on your individual needs. I received the [vitamin] E plus moisturizing, which focuses on deep moisture. I was a bit skeptical receiving this version for my combo and adult acne prone skin; but after reading the ingredient list of vitamin E, Mango seed butter and lavender oil, ingredients my skin generally has good response to, I decided to give it a whirl. This was a really nice moisturizer, not too heavy and in a week’s time, did not break me out. I’ve found over time & trial, on multiple products, that my skin seems to like the calming properties of lavender oil infused in to my moisturizers. I’ve been going very light with it, and sticking to dry patchy areas, but so far so good.
The Sheet Masks
SNP Bird’s Nest Sheet Mask: 1 mask $3.00
SNP Diamond Sheet Mask: 1 mask $3.00
I’ve not yet had the time to try either of these masks, but received the SNP Gold Ampoule Mask in my first box, and really loved the results and how hydrated my skin was when incorporating it in to my routine. I look forward to trying each of these within my routine over the next couple of weeks.
The Cosmetic
Skin Food Black Bean Eye Liner: Product is Full size $5.00
This unique liner contains soy bean and avocado, making it perfect for those with sensitive eye areas. This product applies smoothly over the lids and under eye area. While this is not the product for those seeking a super bold line; it’s great for a smudged or blended/smoky look. As I go for a major cat eye on top, I like to keep it subtle at my bottom lash line. I often use shadow and a liner brush, but this works great for the look I prefer as well. My eyes are ultra sensitive, so it’s a nice product for me.

Nails + Accessory Item
The Face Shop Gold Nail Stickers: 1 sheet (full size) $5.00
Each Pink Seoul Box contains an accessory item, of sorts, and this month it was these ‘The Face Shop’, nail design stickers. I enjoy doing my nails so I gave myself a new mani, incorporating the decals on an accent nail.
and here they are…Polish is one of my favorites; Butter London, Violet’s Revenge; top coat, Julep Oxygen Performance
Holika Holika Cuticle Oil: Product is Full size $6.00
I love this little brush on cuticle oil, which is similar to the versions I’ve seen used when having my nails done at a salon. Brush on nails and toes for a quick, instant, cuticle softening treatment.
The Samples
Heimish All Clean Balm: Deluxe Sample (about $2.00) Full Size $22.00 (vary in the US)
This is a solid to oil, 1st step cleanser that has excellent reviews. Because I know my skin does not like these formulas; I chose to pass on trying this product. Sometimes we know what product types will only cause problems for our skin and in these cases it’s best to pass, especially when you know how bad your reactions can be.
Nature Republic Tinted CC Cream: 2 Sample Packs. Full size product is $22.00 (US prices vary)
CC creams are known for having multi skin benefits as well as light coverage. I’ve mostly stayed away from the BB, CC, DD trend, I feel that in many cases, especially with US brands, I get little to medium coverage, only with a heavier, often greasier feel. I prefer to stick to a very light moisturizer and thinner light weight foundations, with at least medium coverage. This being said, I’ve tried very few K beauty versions. This one had very minimal coverage but felt really lightweight. The tint it very light, much lighter than my skin, but gave it a really nice glow-y appearance and evened out the tone. I could see using this product on a clear skin day.
The Free Thank you gifts
I received these 2 special gifts and a thank you card for being a box launch member!

Heimish Mini Lip Gloss Palette: Palette Mini. Full size is $?
First off, I’m uncertain if you can purchase this as a full sized palette or if it was made only as a special gift item. (I can’t seem to find it) Though it is hard to tell in the photo, as it is a well made detailed product, this is a really small palette..but so cute. I love all the sheer shades and the product formula. This is such a great little product to have for travel or your purse/bag!
Swatches left to right, in palette order.
Tony Moly Nose Pack: 1 nose strip. Full size is $
This is a blackhead removing and pore cleaning nose strip. I’ve not tried this version yet as I just used another brand version recently, and do not yet need another. These have been around in the US for many years, thanks to Biore, and I’ve used several versions since. Tip: Splash face with cold water after removing to snap your pores shut.
