Miss Tutii Box June 2016

miss tutii

I’ve had so many new things in my lineup this Past May & June and still more to come, with new additions to my Subscription arsenal, special additions, some great new product finds & purchases as well as a ‘favorites’ post and many more upcoming beauty goods; but today I have a new to me and fairly new altogether K-beauty subscription, Miss Tutii.  This is my second month with Miss Tutii and my box did not disappoint.  I must admit; I am a bit obsessed when it comes to the whole ‘Korean beauty invasion’ and it’s not simply due to the often ridiculously cute & fun packaging, but the unique ingredients & formulas that have been wonderful & sometimes miraculous even, for my skin type, concerns & issues.  While this particular sub is not exclusively Korean products; this particular box has only products from Korea.

Doesn’t this look fabulous!?

The Goods:

RiRe The Beauty Multi Balm

RiRe The Beauty Multi Balm:  Product is Full size, up to $16.00

This is a multi purpose balm made up of 7 types of berry extracts & 7 types of naturally derived oils, designed to nourish and add moisture wherever needed.  While you expect this product in its cute, little, berry adorned tin to smell the part; it does not have any noticeable scent.  It does have a firm solid texture that quickly melts in to your skin on contact.  (It is similar to a jar of coconut oil.)  This stuff feels really light yet highly moisturizing at the same time and leaves behind a light sheen.  I  love it as a natural looking gloss on the tops of my cheek bones and for the much needed moisture it provided my rough knees & elbows.  It looks great on legs and can be used on hair, nails & lips too.  I was a bit apprehensive of using it on my face but decided to go ahead and apply a small amount, just to dry patches.  They were definitely improved after only one use.   I adore this pink tin of moisture and its light, quick melting texture.  I will use this up really quickly.

Petit Fee Dry Essence Hand Pack

Petit Fée Dry Essence Hand Pack:  Up to $3.00

I love getting these types of products in my K-beauty subs; fun, easy, unique pampering items I can use in the evening while watching TV or reading.  This hand pack comes with an oversized glove for each hand.  The inside of each is coated with a dry essence that melts in to skin with your body heat.  It is recommended that you secure the gloves at the wrists with a rubber band to assist in absorption and then wear for about 20 minutes.  I wore mine for 20 minutes and was happy to find I was still able to swipe to the next page on my Kindle 😉 I was definitely ready to get these things off as I felt like my sweaty hands were suffocating.  After removing I could definitely feel the silky serum on my much more hydrated hands.  This is a treatment I would definitely purchase again to use a couple nights a week..or more, as I am always applying creams and night treatments to my perpetually dry hands.  I loved how silky my hands felt following this pack.

the Saem Green Tea Cleansing Tissue

The Saem Healing Green Tea Garden Cleansing Tissues (cloths) : Up to $4.00

Sometimes late in the evening I have little left and come morning I’m typically in a rush, even if I have been up for hours, as I always cut things to the last minute.  I always like to keep cleansing cloths handy to make sure I never miss a face washing.  I also take a lot of weekend trips and always bring these types of cleansing cloths along.  I’ve used a lot of different brands but this is my first go with a Korean brand.  These have a nice, albeit a bit stronger of a scent than I’m accustomed to.  They felt very refreshing and removed my makeup well.  They are also nice for removing any remaining eye makeup that finds its way under the eye area and b/c of the refreshing feel and scent; they make a nice towelette for freshening up the body on a hot day.  I’d toss these in a beach bag for sure.  The towelette folds out to a surprisingly larger size and is soft and stretchy.

Farm Stay Oil Free UV Defense Sun Cream: up to $15.00

Despite the obvious need for sun protection to avoid multiple versions of skin damage, premature aging and increased skin cancer risk; the thought of slathering on a thick, smelly, high spf sunscreen, especially under makeup, has never been an appealing one.  In western culture, this was most common as our typical desire to be golden and tanned often trumped the need to protect our skin when we were/are young and the undesirable nature of sunscreen did nothing to convince us otherwise.  I personally considered the spf in my typical day moisturizers & cosmetics to be enough for many years.  The sunscreens of today, however, are worlds better than those of the past and often have multi functions at that.  I became a fan of the makeup setting spray versions of last season that can be applied over your makeup, if needed and reapplied easily as well.  I have recently been introduced to a couple of Korean Sun Creams and found that I was quite surprised by their very lightweight texture, nearly disappearing once absorbed and their lack of scent reminiscent of my mother chasing my pasty a*% around the pool while my bronzed friends basked in their summer glow.  These sun creams are completely different, pleasant even, serve as a makeup base, do not cause and can even help prevent breakouts.  This one is really good, absorbs in to nothing, has fun packaging and is safe enough for a baby’s skin.  Wear your sunscreen, kids.  You will thank me later.  If you are in search of a facial version, check this one out.

Missha Premium Aloe Sheet Mask

Missha Premium Aloe Sheet Mask:  Up to $2.00

I’ve tried a lot of sheet masks from a lot of different brands but I believe this is the first Missha Sheet Mask I have tried.  My skin is pretty finicky these days, (thanks, hormones), so when I am concerned about breakouts, redness, need something soothing AND need a good dose of moisture I typically search my mask stash for something aloe based as these tend to work for all of those skin concerns.  This mask was nice and soothing at the end of the day, as I prefer to insert my mask usage in to my nightly routine: [cleanse, exfoliate, tone, mask; then treatments ie: essence, serums, moisturizing products] I will sometimes use a mask by day, if my skin is in need, and I have nowhere to be; but, I prefer minimal product on my skin prior to makeup application.  My night time skin is much more tolerant to multiple products and tends to appear more plump & hydrated come morning when I use a mask compatible with my skin as part of my night time routine.

La'Dor Sleeping Clinic Ampoule

La’Dor Keratin Power Fill Sleeping Clinic Ampoule:  up to $5.00

My hair is very thick, course, dry and long.  I use plenty of oils and serums in my hair when both damp & even dry to assist in smoothing and taming it.  I liked the concept of a sleeping version and have read good things about this line.  I assumed this product would be more like a deep conditioner, texture wise but it is actually a thick serum.  Because I have so much hair I just used the entire tube, on my slightly damp hair.  It definitely helped with my hair’s appearance and made my morning styling routine a bit more easy.  I am definitely going to look in to additional products from La’Dor for the scalp & the hair.

Sulwhasoo Essential Eye Cream

Sulwhasoo Essential Renewing Eye Cream: 5 Sample packs.  Full size is $114.00

I recently received Sulwhasoo Essential firming cream for the face & reviewed it.  In my review I mentioned using a few other Sulwhasoo creams in the past, which I liked, yet noted that people often complain about the odd ‘fragrance’ in many of the products.  One description, which always stands out, was ‘rotten potatoes’  The face cream I have most recently used did not have any of those odd scents but this eye cream does and it brought me back.  While I do not find the scent of this cream as offensive as a ‘rotten potato’ sounds…I do totally get the description.  Either way, most often, as long as an odd smell is fleeting; I tend to dismiss it as a “this ingredient must really do something other wise they wouldn’t include it thing” and that is how I feel about this product.  I like the eye cream, I only notice the smell for a few moments and while I’ve not used it long enough to determine whether it is worth purchasing, I will continue using it until it is gone.   Because I can get get several uses from each little packet these will allow me more than 2 weeks of use.

This is a great box for anyone who loves K-beauty as well as anyone wanting to give it a go! Though this is only my second box, I’ve seen past versions and they looked great as well. There was an excellent variety of products in this box covering a lot of areas and all of them worked really well for my needs!  I love the time & care that they put in to the packaging and info cards, everything is very cute.  The fact that they have several options in different price ranges is a big plus as well.
