Today I will be reviewing my June Glossybox. (There are generally a few variations in products) Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that boasts 5 luxury beauty products each month, wrapped up in a lovely pink box; or in this case, red. as this is one of those ‘special’ collab type monthly boxes I talk about a bit further down the page. The products are often full sized, if not; they are deluxe sized samples. The cost of the subscription is 21.00 per month with free shipping.
Glossybox has a classic monthly box but often does a special edition or collab/partner edition that replaces their regular box. These boxes generally have a unique box with special artwork or are labeled with the partnering brands/company’s logos etc. They are specially curated to fit the theme or contain some of the most popular brands/products spotlighted by said partnering brands/companies. I get really excited for these boxes. (This box is one of these ‘types’ of Glossyboxes.) The special edition boxes alone are often great for display or re-use in some way or another. In addition to these unique monthly versions Glossybox also curates special, limited edition, [additional] one time purchase boxes, ie: Holiday, Mothers day etc. (you can scroll through the past boxes here -just scroll down the linked page a bit to view past boxes.) * If it does not have a month in the title than it is a special edition one time, additional purchase box, otherwise it was the box included in your subscription.
…and now on to June’s box.

Caolin Premium 02 Bubble & Cool Pore Pack Duo: Deluxe Sample Duo Pack. Full Size $31.00
This is my favorite item of the lot; although I was a bit disappointed to find it was not the full sized version. It’s definitely a multi-use size but not easily re-sealable. I re-stored mine in the box, with the tops of each up against each other to keep them closed; hopefully this will keep the two of them from drying out prior to my next use. I’m a huge fan of K-Beauty and while I’ve not tried this brand before now, I have seen it advertised on Sephora’s site and have been curious about the brand and line. I’ve used and own similar bubble mask type products; they’re fun and make your skin feel really clean but can sometimes be over-drying. This version, which states that it is designed for sensitive skin, has little exfoliants of some sort that buff your skin while you are applying the mask, which then begins its foaming/bubbling process shortly after application. This portion is designed to cleanse and remove dirt and blackheads from pores. It seemed gentle enough and did not leave my skin feeling to tight or dry once rinsed. After leaving mask on about 10 minutes you rinse off ‘part one’ and then apply ‘part 2’, the cooling mask, designed to close up/tighten and shrink pores. This portion has a pretty intense cooling sensation, which I love, but some are not fans of. The intensity does subside some after a bit. I love how my skin looked and felt after this duo and the cooling sensation was a great morning ‘pick me up’ for sure. Much to my surprise the whole process did not over dry my skin either. I think this duo will make for a nice deep cleansing, once weekly treatment.
a look inside..
LA Splash Lip Lacquer High Pigment Collection: Product is full Size $18.00
This is a high pigment lip color that starts as a cream gloss and transforms to a soft matte. Glossy sent out varying shades of this product; but of course I received the vibrant, true red version. While the red products obviously look nice in this particular collab; [I get it], Glossy has sent so many red nail polishes and lip products over the course of a year that I really hope not to see another. I do like the formula of this product quite a bit, it’s smooth and very light weight, looks really great on as far as texture and finish. I’d certainly be game to try this product in a different shade, but I couldn’t find this product on their site.

Sinful Colors Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Satin Collection: Full size $3.00
I actually received an item from the Denim & Bling Collection, Kurves; but this whole collab is more of a few collections within a collection..or ‘kollection’ if you are in to the whole Kylie obsessing thing. I’m glad I received one of these and sidestepped a satin red! It’s an inexpensive polish brand, but I actually do like Sinful Colors nail polish and these bottle designs as well as the newer shades and finishes are fun and trendy.

Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara: Full Size $19.00
I’ve never heard of this brand prior to now but I do not wear waterproof mascara. I’ve never been a fan and any time I try one I’m always disappointed. Mascaras of today are hard enough to remove without making them waterproof and I can’t afford to lose any more lashes. I took a photo with the wand to show it..it seems pretty basic and the formula seemed pretty wet.
TanTowel Half Body Classic: (2 towelettes) Full size 10 for $27.00
I once used these way back when and once you get the hang of the towelette you can get the job done fairly quickly. Today there are so many options for self tanning and with the tinted, instant bronzing versions available, you avoid the waiting game which is: Did I miss a spot? Will I have creepy streaks…and also you get the instant gratification. I’m pretty set on my current self tanning products. Without other options I’d gotten pretty good at applying these and they do work, are very travel friendly and do not require additional applicators; I just prefer the products and methods I currently use and do not wish to go back. I also feel that these have a stronger after tan scent then some and dry out my skin a bit more.
Sebastian Professional Whipped Creme: Purse size. Full Size is $20.00
I really expected this to be some type of ‘supposedly updated mousse’; but its actually more of a whipped leave in conditioner. It looks just like whipped creme and has none of the stickiness [of that] or mousse like products. Its very light. Be careful when dispensing though; I swear half the bottle came out when I first hit the button.
little extra:
Sebastian Dark Oil: Sample Vial: Full size $31.00
This oil is a tad bit thicker than many and smells similar to most of them. It’s such a tiny vial it’s hard to say if it is any better than others that I’ve used. I added some to my drier ends and used the remaining bit to smooth over my sleek ponytail. A Glossy tip that sounded like a good idea is to mix the dark oil in to a deep conditioning treatment and leave on 10 minutes before rinsing. This will probably be even more effective if you wrap hair in a towel (or a dream dry turban) while the product sits on your hair.
The idea of this box was nice and everything worked well with the ‘Tony Theme’; unfortunately, a lot of the products just didn’t suit me all that well. Can’t always please everyone though.. 😉 What were your thoughts on this special Glossy Edition, Tony Awards collaboration?
