The July/August edition of Pink Seoul has arrived and I’ve been diligently testing away! Pink Seoul is a K-beauty (Korean Beauty) company that launched in March of 2016. I am always so excited to see what the next Pink Seoul Box will bring and I’m constantly falling in love with new products, many which I’ve inserted in to my nightly routine and have had some really positive results. This particular beauty sub boasts many great aspects in addition to the fabulous products that they send each month. What sealed it for me is your ability to customize the box based on your skin (and they actually follow it, it’s not just a mere ‘suggestion’ like with Birchbox and Ipsy) So; no more receiving strange shades that don’t fit your skin color, products for oily skin when yours is dry..etc etc. On top of the customizing option for each box they also have several different box options to choose from, including the popular bi-monthly choice with full-sized products. (this is what I currently subscribe to.) They also have a monthly mask box (not just sheet masks) and a box tailored to 35+ (I think this is a first, right?) All excellent options! Commitment phobe? They also have some nice one time purchase, specially curated boxes and many individual items that have been spotlighted in their boxes.

(I accidentally left out the Nature Republic Aloe tub in this photo but you will find it below.)
I’ve currently added the new ‘Omakase’ mask box to my cart; which is a box that will contain a washing hair band and 7 different masking products, based on your skin type and concerns, selected by Pink Seoul, for $24.95 (not just sheet masks)

The Box:
(All of the Bits!)
The Goods:

This is a very light, thin cleansing oil designed as a first step cleanser, comprised of rice water for its brightening properties and its ability to help even out the skin’s tone. I’ve never had any luck with oil based cleansers; liquids, balms, what have you, they’ve always broke me out, and quickly. I almost didn’t even try this product due to this factor but when I pumped some on my hand, and noted how light and thin it was; I decided to give it a patch test. The following evening I gave it a go. The product feels nice and light, does a good job of breaking up your makeup. I apply it to my dry skin and massage it in, loosening makeup and grime. Next I use my wet Konjac sponge and give my skin a light scrub in circular motions, rinsing sponge several times until I no longer see makeup transferring to the sponge. Once rinsed I move on to a water based cleanser with a low PH. Once this cleansing routine is complete my face feels cleans with no trace of an oily film. My skin is a bit parched this summer and maybe that is why the oil cleanser is doing better for me; but, in a weeks time I’v had no issues with breakouts and my skin feels soft and clean each night without any tight/dry feeling. The cleansing oil has the scent of a classic soap (Ivory/Dove), so be careful if you use it on your lips, b/c it tastes like said soap as well! I do recommend this product and it is definitely one to try for those that may have had issues with other oil based cleansers in the past, as I have.

Known for it’s skin repairing and hydrating properties; this is a good product to always have around. Growing up, my grandma always had a large aloe plant in the house for quick remedy of scrapes and burns. I can’t tell you how many times she was breaking an aloe leaf over my skin. 😉 This gel is comprised of 92% aloe vera and has a pleasant fragrance. I’ve been using mine solely to moisturize my body, mostly legs, as they are so dry from living in CA. There are plenty of uses for the product though; adding to sheet masks, soaking cotton pads and refrigerating for a puffy eye treatment.. etc. This tub is quite large, similar to a big body butter from The Body Shop and it’s worlds better than the sticky junk they sell at drugstores in the sun care isle. Love it.

I have been wanting to try this brand and product for some time now; so I was really happy to find it in my box! This is a BHA treatment which helps to both clear up and prevent blackheads. Product also contains Niacinamide, for brightening and Hyaluronic Acid which helps your skin retain moisture and protect its barrier. This product is designed to use after cleanser, as the toner step and in place of an exfoliating product as it does the trick in this arena as well. I went ahead and used a light toner, as I like to make your my skin is totally clean, and used this after. I just pat this product with its light gel like consistency over troubled areas and allow it to absorb. In a week’s time I do not have much for blackheads; but did not to begin with either. It does seem to keep my skin clear and I prefer to use these types of products for exfoliation as opposed to more abrasive scrubs which tend aggravate my skin. I will continue with the product and see how it works to improve or maintain with my skin’s condition.

I’ll never be sad about receiving any of the adorably cute Kbeauty lip balms and hand creams. The smile inducing packaging paired with the fact that they are generally quite effective and smell fantastic, makes for a great product. This peach version smells just as you would hope and feels nice on, does the trick! Love.
cuteness overload
Super cute item number 2: This little powder blusher, housed in a round powder box comes with a cute little puff for application. At first sight the color seemed a shocking pink, but makes for a nice flushed look, and can be blended out to almost nothing, natural looking. Extra points for being adorable. (The product specs on this link are incorrect, describing a different product; so, go by mine.)
cute, cute, cute

The Sheet Masks:
This is another product I have been wanting to try. This sheet mask is designed to moisturize, heal and soothe the skin. This mask was loaded with product yet was totally dry when I finally removed it. My skin really soaked this stuff up and clearly needed it. It’s heavy on the moisture which left my skin tacky and it never really absorbed enough for day use. I ended up grabbing a cotton pad with a small amount of micellar water on it and wiping it some, so I could apply my makeup; but my skin looked and felt nice after. This mask is best suited for evening use, (or a day with nothing in store) which I typically do anyway, sticking to wash off types by day as needed. Really liked it, wish I’d have saved it for my evening routine., to better reap the benefits. 😦
Tony Moly I’m Real Sheet Mask [Red wine]: $2-3.00 (can be found on Amazon etc. in multi-version bundle packs, but be aware and read reviews, some sellers have been known to send product very near or past their expiration)
These masks are pretty easy to come by in the US, with many retailers. I have a large stack of them; yet, this is the only version I do not have and have not tried. I’ve been loading up on the intense moisture sheet masks as of late but look forward to giving this a go when the need arises.
The Samples:
Thank You Farmer Sample Trio
I have been dying to try this pretty, pastel brand with great reviews. I am LOVING the True Water Light Gel cream. It is so moisturizing, yet light and quick to absorb. It feels really cool and soothing as you apply. I’ve added the Thank You Farmer starter kit to my Pink Seoul Cart. Here is a
link to the starter kit containing all of these products and more. (code Seoul79 for 10% off.)
I already have my favorite sun creams but this is a solid version. It’s light and somewhat watery/thin, quick absorbing without the sunscreen smell; but instead a light fresh scent. I’ll toss this in my bag for sunscreen emergencies.
Pink Seoul Product info & Tip Cards:
Another excellent box for me! My first box was amazing and I loved the second as well…but I think that this one may have been my favorite; it’s a close call, they are all so fab! I thoroughly enjoy trying new and unique brands and concepts.
Pink Seoul does such a stellar job of putting their boxes together and providing excellent tips and info.
