Delight & Detox

A masking set to delight your senses?  I’m in.  When I first laid eyes on this pyramid of colorful jars; it immediately struck my first sense: sight.  Marketing Genius.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan mud mask set

I must admit; though I did read up on the product a little and browsed review after review to determine whether or not this product would be a good fit for me, could hold up to its aesthetics… I some how missed the little tidbit about each mask being ‘the same’.  While the masks come in an array of scents and jewel toned hues, each mask itself is a detoxifying, hydrating mask of the same formula.  I just wanted to get that little bit out of the way for anyone who may have wondered or missed that.

My Thoughts:

These masks are definitely a delight to use; choosing which scent and color you are feeling that day.  It certainly adds a little fun to the routine of things.  The scent of each mask is a bit weak  and while you certainly do not want to douse your facial skin with strongly perfumed, alcohol laden fragrance..I did expect a bit more aromatherapy from them; especially the lavender and the basil mint.  Lavender tends to calm, not only my senses, but my skin itself, so I’d hoped for a stronger presence.  The Vanilla Apricot smells similar to St Ives Apricot scrub, the cucumber Aloe smells fresh, of cucumbers and the sweet citrus has the most distinct scent as one might expect.  They all smell nice if you sniff the product; they just do not do too much for your ‘senses’ while on your face.  The texture of the masks are lighter and a bit more fluffy due to the whipped nature of the product and have a slight and fine grittiness when you rub the product between your fingers. They do not get nearly as stiff when dry.  They do not dry to become as hard of a substance as other clay masks can and do not become brittle on your face.  The masks are fairly easy to remove and once I do, I find my skin to be a bit more smooth, soft and really clean feeling.  I have not noticed any tightness, which is common in clay masks and definitely feel they provide moisture along with the detox properties.  I’ve used each mask once over a two week period and while I have not noticed any miraculous results; I’ve not had any breakouts that could be attributed to the mask usage and my skin has seemed pretty hydrated lately.  When you use a vast array of skincare (I follow a Kbeauty regimen) and sheet mask nightly, it can be a bit harder to notice all effects of one solitary product, but I definitely have no regrets over this purchase as while I sheet mask in the evening; I like good wash of masks for some mornings/day.  I find these types can be harder to find compatibility wise, as most detox types dry me out, leaving my skin tight and other versions/types irritate or break me out.  These are a nice morning pick me up, the sweet scents and bright colors make them a delight to use and the fact that they cover multiple issues makes them a good pick for most users.  I think that if the masks interest you having read all of this, than you will more than likely really enjoy them.  I find, for the price tag, they are a really good deal and that they would make a great gift for yourself or any beauty and skincare lover.

I love masks! It’s too bad they are essentially the same masks though- just with different scents and colors. However, the colors are fun, and it would be cool to choose a new one everytime.

I know, me too! I was kind of bummed at first too..but then after I thought about it some; I figured well, if there were 5 different types, with my finicky skin type, likely several of them might not work for me anyway…I know that say; as much as I like the ‘idea’ of Glam Glow products..the majority of them break me out..which sucks b/c I have tons of all of it :/ I’m just glad that this formula works for me..since I now have five of them lol ..and they look cool on my vanity!
