Monday, Monday…Hey, beauties; apologies in advance as I will likely not have another post for more than a week.  I’ll be traveling.  I’d be lying if I said I weren’t twitching a bit as so many fabulous items arrived today while I’m packing up, yet I’ve had to remain focused on the matter at hand… but; it will all be here waiting when I get back.  I may be a bit late on some of my monthly reviews, but will get them all in.

Today’s post covers some of Maybelline’s most recent launches.  I’ve had these items for a bit now, but only more recently really began using the products.  I did skip over a couple of the items that launched at the same time as these; but I must say, I was pretty impressed with the items I did choose.  Shall we?

The Haul:

Maybelline newbies Summer 2016

The Goods:

Matbelline Face Studio Master Contour V

Maybelline Face Studio Master Contour V Stick: $7.99 (varies by retailer)

To be honest; I did not expect much from this.  It appeared as though it might be awkward, hard to use.  I grabbed it just to see; it looked interesting and it was inexpensive.  Most of my contouring products I purchase in light, but I’m more tan right now so I figure I’d try the medium shade and give this product a shot.  The shade duo is perfect for my skin tone and shade right now and I must admit;  I love this stick.  Love it.  It is impossibly simple to use.  The product is glass smooth and the consistency is perfect.  It glides over skin without skipping a beat and blends easily.  Despite owning a ridiculous amount of contouring products; the contouring I do, is a pretty simplified version.  I mainly focus on my nose and basic cheekbone definition.  This stick makes it so quick and easy to achieve optimal results.  Simply swipe wear you want shadow, flip, swipe where you want ‘highlight’.  My only concern with this stick is how it will wear down with continued use.

Contour me

Here is where I put mine.  I then take this small stipple brush and blend the shadow on my nose outward, lightly and than very lightly swirl my way down.  I carefully blend the light shade down the center with my finger.  for my cheekbones, I blend downward, very lightly along the line I’ve made and then lightly swirl it until its blended.

Easy peasy…and I got my hair cut off.  Well, for me anyway.  It was to the very bottom of my back.  Now it is asymmetrical, shorter in the back, plus new color.  It feels so light and fresh!

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick

Maybelline Face Studio Master Strobing Stick: $7.99 (price varies by retailer)

Another easy stick product.  I have plenty of stick highlighters; but again, I had to try it.  I chose the light iridescent, which is a good shade fit for me, on the cooler side.  This product is light and creamy and requires only a quick swipe and a little blend.  It is the perfect companion to the contour stick.  In the look above, and every day for the past week I have been applying a light foundation, and then using the contour stick, this highlight stick, and one of the two lip products, (reviewed below) [plus; Tony Moly Tattoo Brow, MUF Excessive Lash and Clio Kill Black Waterproof Pen liner]  It’s been such a quick, easy look!

Maybelline Color Jolt in Never Bare

Maybeline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint: $6.99 (price varies by retailer)

This product is basically the drugstore ‘melted’ and while it may not be spot on; I still think this is a really good formula.  It comes in the squeeze bottle design with the slanted plush applicator. The formula is thicker than a gloss and full coverage.  This (never bare) is the only shade I’ve tried so far but I really love it.. and will likely check out a couple additional shades.  The product wears really well and lasts.  This one has a candy like scent to it as well.  Maybelline also paired this launch with two lip ‘toppers’ a shiny gloss and a sparkly gloss version, designed to be worn over the top of this product.  They seemed pretty basic to me, so I passed on those.

New Babylips Maybelline

Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in ‘My Pink’: $3.49 (prices vary by retailer)

And last but not least; the newest addition to the ever growing Baby Lips family.  It’s your basic Baby Lips with the addition of the PH adjusting shade.  These products are supposed to adjust to the individuals PH and find the perfect shade.  I have used many versions of this product concept and they all have turned my lips a bright, garish shade of vibrant, hot pink; that in no scenario, is a perfect fit.  Much to my surprise, this one was much better.  The pink was far more subdued and didn’t seem to mysteriously brighten as the day went on.  Nothing special; but I do like the shade it gives me and I have been using it.  So; for 3.50, it’s a win.

..and that is that.  What did everyone think?  Any favorites?

Be back soon! Don’t miss me too much!

Bummer! I really like a couple of the Fit Me Foundation products; and a foundation that cooperates with my skin is my hardest to find product whether it’s 7.00 or $70.00! Maybelline has really brought it in 2016. Hopefully they will expand your way in the near future! I find myself getting stuck on the Maybelline UK, like wait; why the hell don’t we have this!!! lol.

I purchased it as soon as it launched but had not gotten to trying it. Another girl I follow reviewed it and she told me. ‘It’s so good, you have to try it’. I was impressed with it and I’ve been using it quite a bit. All of the launch displays are sold out around here. I hope they restock it soon so I can grab another!

No, it’s not. I like the shade I chose and it’s pretty fool proof. Nothing outstanding but great for some quick, easy highlight!

that contour stick looks awesome! i just picked up the nyx wonder stick, and i LOVE the shade for my skin tone, but i’m having issues with seamless blending. i think i’ll pick this one up and see if it’s any better! I’ve been hunting for good drug store contour products… so far with minimal luck!

I have the nyx contour stick too. I love the shades and the application but it’s hard not to blend parts of it away. I found the blending of the Maybelline version really good. It has a better consistency than the nyx. I use it a lot and I still really love it!
