August ‘Bag’:

Play by Sephora August

The Goods:

Caudalie resveratrol Eye Lifting balm

Caudalíe Resveratrol Eye Lifting Balm:  Deluxe Sample.  Full Size $62.00

This is a lightweight gel-like Eye Cream.  It’s non irritating, feels fresh and gives eyes an instant pick me up.  This was my favorite item in this month’s bag.  Eye treatments are pretty much my ‘thing’ at the moment as I’m at the stage where I’m clinging on to having no real wrinkles or crows feet.  Products that instantly make me look more awake and combat the tiny under eye lines that surface when I smile and are more prominent when not properly hydrated,  make me happy.  This one makes me happy. 🙂  I like to hope that products such as this one, as well as my lifetime long sunglasses obsession are prolonging the youth in my eye area. 😉 Product is formulated with Caudalie’s star ingredient, Resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant with anti-aging benefits.

Lancome Energie De Vie glow boosting smoothing liquid

Lancôme Énergie De Vie Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer:  Deluxe Sample.  Full Size $55.00

This liquid moisturizer is more in line with Popular Asian Beauty Products (huge fan, right here) this product is thicker than your standard water consistency essence but very similar to other first essence products I have used  from Goodal & A True (like an ultra thin water light gel) It’s thinner and less sticky than your typical serum or ampoule.  The product smells kind of like wine to me, grape like..but it’s only really strong when first dispensed.  It gives your skin a nice fresh, light dose of moisture.  This product is designed to energize the skin and shield it from environmental stressors.  It can be used in place of a moisturizer or beforehand depending on your skin’s type and needs.

Urban Decay Perversion

Urban Decay Perversion: Deluxe Mini: $10.00  Full Size $20.00

I’m no stranger to UD’s Perversion; in fact, it’s been a favorite of mine for some time.   It’s and ultra black thickening and lengthening mascara with a really buildable formula.  If you pair it with Subversion, or any other similar lash primer, it’s absolutely fabulous.  Everyone has favorite mascaras and certain versions work great for one and so much for another..but this is definitely one on my recommended list…and PS I only have around 5 [I recommend] on my high end list! (yet I’ve tried SO many) One tip I do have though, a great lash primer can make any mascara a good one.  I’m also happy I received another mini version because I always prefer the mini version to the full sized..for whatever reason.

MUFE Artist Shadow

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in I-544: (pink granite) Deluxe Mini  Full Size $21.00

Even I find it hard to believe that despite owning a lot of MUFE products; this is the first eyeshadow I have ever used.  I really love the texture of it.  It’s almost thick and creamy, has great pigment and coverage.  It did get slightly rough after using it some..not a big deal, just makes it look weird, which bugs me.  I have pretty hooded lids, I guess you would call them.  I’ve never had much of an eye lid so fancy eye looks have never really been much of a thing for me.  I generally go for neutral shades with a major winged liner or a super smokey eye in one shade.  This shade makes for a nice smokey look for me.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil in Flirting Game: Deluxe Mini.  Full Size $10.00

As much of my money that I give to Sephora and have for maybe 13 years..(?) I have never purchased a single Sephora branded item myself.  This 12 hr wear, waterproof pencil is really nice and the taupe shade (which I LOVE) pairs well with the MUFE eyeshadow.  I followed the Sephora tip and applied the liner and quickly smudging with a brush upward and out, blending and then applying some of the shadow across brow bone.  It was a great look.  The product glides on smooth and easy and stays really well.

The Fragrance Sample:

Clean Reserve Blonde Rose

Clean Blonde Rose fragrance vial:  Full Size $25-$90.00

I actually already own the full layering set with all of the Clean Reserve fragrances..and I love it.  This is not my favorite of the set, on its own, but it works better for me layered with some of the others.  I totally love the set 🙂

The Caudalie eye balm was one of my favorites as well as the Sephora pencil. I think it’s a nice transitioning shade for fall. 🙂

I’m sure there will be soon if there are not any already. You can generally hashtag things on instagram and find out. I usually just wait for the surprise. I’m cheesy like that! 😉

Yea, it does. It’s like getting a bag full of Sephora’s 100 point perks each month, plus a fragrance sample. I’m glad they put something really ew in it this month..but wish they would use more ‘hot new items’ each month. I’d be more apt to purchase full size things after, that way. Being a beauty junky and avid Sephora shopper, I usually use or have tried a lot of what they include.

I’m really thinking about adding this subscription, I love shopping at Sephora, so it would be great to sample some things I might not have thought to pick up!
It’s so funny that you mentioned that you prefer the mini UD mascara over the full size- because I feel the exact same way! I received the mini in an Ipsy bag (many moons ago) and LOVED it. So much so that I bought the full size- and while I did like the full size as well- it didn’t compare to the mini in my opinion. So weird!
As far as the Sephora Collection goes- their eyeshadows are really nice!

Seriously! I most always feel that way about mascara. Maybe I feel like I have better control over the smaller product.. who knows…but every time I buy a full size high end mascara; I always wish I had the deluxe mini that I tried first! I also never get through a full sized mascara before it gets dry…so it’s probably best to stick with the minis anyway…and it’s nice that you can buy most popular mascaras that way. Thanks for the tip! 😉 xx
