Hey Beauty Fans, September’s Allure box has arrived and it’s full of beauty fixes. From a trendy nude nail treatment to a lash plumping primer, you’ll find it all right here.
For $15.00 per month you will receive a box containing 5 or more deluxe sized beauty products from today’s most luxurious brands.
One of my favorite things about the Allure Beauty Box is how carefully it is curated and the awesome little mini mag that is included in each box. It gives excellent descriptions and tips for each item in the box with a descriptive and down to earth introduction to the boxes content. I love the beauty director’s honest representation of each product.
The Box:
The Goods:
BVLGARI Omnia Coral: Perfume Mini. Full Size $66.00
It’s become clear that Allure has an established relationship with Bvlgari, as I’ve received several different Bvlgari scents in my Allure boxes. These particular minis are really nice looking, little replicas of the full sized versions. If you own a full sized Bvlgari scent in this classic bottle styling you might expect it to be a spray, ’tis not, and you must be careful, getting the lid off is really tough. I learned this with a prior ‘omnia’ scent mini! The notes in this scent are: Bergamot, Goji Berries, Hibiscus Flower, Water Lily, Pomegranate, Cedarwood; and it comes off a bit sweet initially, but dries down a bit powdery and pleasant. The scent really grew on me after having it on a short time.
Pūr-lisse Prevent Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk: Deluxe/Travel Size. Full Size $36.00
Speaking of brand relationships…I’m fully stocked on Purlisse, Allure. Let’s try something new, shall we? I feel like they are pushing it a bit hard. I do really like some of the products, especially the sheet masks, but I have so many of, several different Purlisse products at this juncture, that I need a break from the brand. This cleanser really is a good cleanser in many ways: It’s super gentle and it gets your skin really, really clean, in just one cleanse. (deep clean feeling without stripping) Using it as my first step cleanser I was shocked to find nary a trace of dirt or makeup on the cotton pad during my second cleanse. Often times when I cleanse not only do I find plenty of lingering product during my second cleanse, but often trace amounts on the cotton pad I’ve used to apply my toner. The fact that it cleanses so thoroughly while being so extremely gentle is pretty amazing. Unfortunately following day 2 and 3 of using this cleanser my face was increasingly oily/greasy looking; so I had to cut ties.
GrandePrimer: Deluxe Mini Full Size $24.95
I have never heard of this brand and I stared at it for a moment trying to figure it out; it looks pretty cheap, but when I saw it was a lash conditioner/primer I was eager to give it a go. Lash primers are everything to me. (this one is really good) I honestly do not understand why everyone doesn’t love and use them as I do. They are so simple to use, coating you lashes in a mega-thickening, lengthening, sometimes fiber-fortified goo. (I really make it sound pleasant, right 😉 But honestly, a couple swipes of a good primer even topped with a mediocre mascara will give your lashes more oomph than a million coats of a great one (with less clumps) When followed up with an amazing mascara, you can achieve absolute lash fabulous-ness. Tip: Because the primers can coat your lashes pretty thick, following with mascaras that have the spikier wands, this will help separate and coat over the primer more easily.
Avene Eau Thermale PhysioLift Eyes: Deluxe Mini. Full size $44.00
This wrinkle smoothing eye treatment is one designed for use at night. It’s thick and rich, but cooling and refreshing. It feels really great going on. This product is unique in the sense that it contains a form of retinol that is not too harsh for sensitive eye areas. (my eyes are super sensitive and it worked excellent for me) If you are able to use an eye cream like this by day, without it interfering with your makeup, I say go for it. I thought this product instantly made my eyes appear smoother and even slightly masked my shadowy under eyes circles.
Supergoop Shine On Lip Screen SPF 50: Mini. Full Size $22.00
Major Sun Protection for your lips and a treatment in one…wish I’d have gotten this product in May or June, not that the Sunshine is going anywhere in my neck of the woods..but still, my lips take a beating in the heart of the sunny, dry, CA summers, even with the minimal sun protection in most lip treatments. This products is said to protect your lips from the sun and is water resistant for 80 minutes, a really great bonus. It does have a bit of a sunscreen taste, but not as bad as a typical sun cream. It feels really great on your lips, cool and soothing. I found it to really help my lips in a short amount of time.
Orly Breathable Treatment + nail color in nourishing nude: Full size $8.99
This high shine nail color formula is free of toluene, DBP and Formaldehyde. It’s a pretty great polish too. Now, I got the nude, wish I was happy about, but it’s a bit sheer & light to cover my nails’ many flaws. The formula applies very easily, you can almost do a nail in one stroke. [It has one of those wider brushes with a perfectly shaped rounded tip, similar to the Sally Hansen complete manicure) a dot of polish on the tip, a swipe up the middle, quick swipe to the left and then to the right..and you are good. It’s a great brush and formula for those who have issues doing their opposite hand. As far as lasting; I’m on day three which is amazing as I omitted both a base and top coat due to the formula claims.

This box was not all that exciting, but contained some good products either way. Every month can’t be a favorite, I suppose. What were your thoughts on September’s Allure Box?
