Miss Tutii Box September 2016

I find myself looking more and more forward to this box each month.  September’s box has a great mix of items, and 1 really fun product I’ve been wanting to try!  I must admit; I am a bit obsessed when it comes to the whole ‘Korean beauty invasion’ and it’s not simply due to the often ridiculously cute & fun packaging, but the unique ingredients & formulas that have been wonderful & sometimes miraculous even, for my skin type, concerns & issues, as well as the multi step routine meant to fully pamper your skin. While this sub isn’t exclusively Korean; this particular box stated on all but two of the items that they were and I believe the other two items are as well, but I am not certain.  (typically each item states it’s origin)  One little gripe I do have, and those who subscribe will likely ‘get me’, The Tutii Store.  It seems the items have been the same since I’ve joined, rarely any new items to purchase.  Even the sold out items are the same ‘sold out’ items. 😦  While I have plenty of great outlets for Korean Beauty items as of late; I really want to spend my Tutii points!  They do have a selection of masks I can pick up though…

tony-moly-choco-pore-mushroom-pack

Tony Moly Magic Food Mask Pack (Styles Vary):  Retail Value $18.00

This oh so cute mushroom was sent out in 3 different varieties; The Golden Mushroom Sleeping Pack, Strawberry Mushroom Sugar Scrub and the one I received, The Choco Mushroom Cream Pore Pack.  These Magic Food Mask packs are comprised of a triple mushroom complex; Matsutake, Shitake and Chaga for hydration, exfoliation and pore care.  I have been wanting to try this version and already own the golden mushroom; so I was really excited to receive the choco mushroom!  This version is a wash-off cream pore pack/mask that contains Ghassoul powder to deeply cleanse the pores, extract excess sebum and residual makeup/dirt that clogs pores.   This product is one that is a delight to use; the packaging is fun and upon opening you instantly get a whiff of the chocolate scent.  The cream pack looks and feels like creamy chocolate and feels buttery smooth on your skin.

It doesn’t get ultra stiff as it dries and it turns to more of a rubbery like finish when it does.   Once the product has been washed away skin looks and feels very clean and appears smooth and shiny.  It made my skin soft and did not deplete it of moisture.  I really loved using this mask and highly recommend it for any chocolate lover  with the need for this product type!  Directions:  Apply to dry face post cleanse, leave on 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water.

secret-key-eye-cream

Secret Key Starting Treatment Eye Cream:  Retail Value $14.00

I already own this eye cream and I really like it.  It’s a really impressive product for only $14.00 and it’s a larger size than many.  It’s easily as good as most of the really pricey versions I have tried, so I totally recommend this if you are looking for your first eye cream or wanting to try something new…especially if you are on a budget.  This eye cream is an all-in-one variety for nourishment, skin elasticity, anti-wrinkle and whitening.  It contains a rose extract water for its soothing and moisturizing properties.  Th texture of this product is nice; smooth and soothing.  It’s kind of a cross between a cream, gel and a serum, similar to that of some primers, only it absorbs more than sitting on your skin.  I find it immediately soothing and smoothing to my under eye.

one-shot-morning-gel-cleanser

Etude House O Le Mong One shot Morning Gel Cleanser: Deluxe Sample.  Full Size $11.70

This cleanser is designed for morning use removing any over night oil & impurities and adding a dose of light moisture.  The PH of this cleanser is low, at 5.5.  I typically do not use a regular cleanser in the morning, but instead just a cleansing towelette or micellar water on a cotton pad; just something to freshen up my skin and remove excess night time product and oil.  This was really nice and gentle though and the citrus scent made for a nice morning pick me up.  I just applied a small amount to my face in circular motions until I felt clean and rinsed.  My skin felt refreshed & clean without feeling dry.

nature-republic-shine-volume-mascara

Nature Republic Pure Shine Mascara (Volume or Curling Black):  Retail Value $9.00

Korean Mascara’s have not typically been too great for me, though there has been one exception; (too cool for school Dinoplatz escalator mascara is amazing) This one was nothing special.  I received the Volume Version of the two sent out, yet had I not known this I would have assumed it something different.  When I applied this product to my lashes it did provide me with the desired length, but no volume whatsoever.  My lashes looked long, but puny per usual and super separated.  The pros of this mascara are its plant based formula, minimizing irritation, which is precisely why I chose to try it on the day that I did.  My eyes were really irritated and swollen from allergies and I seriously can’t go without mascara, everything else, but not mascara.  I felt good about this product on my eyes and they had no further irritation once they calmed down.  It’s also really shiny; so if you like that aspect, you will achieve it with this product.  Mascara is definitely a product of preference and if you enjoy the pros of this product, and already have fairly thick lashes, this may be a good fit for you.  For me; it’s just doesn’t cut it.

skin79-animal-mask-moisture

Skin79 Animal Mask (styles vary): Retail Value $3.50

I received the monkey mask, intensive moisture, and boy was it a treat.  I’ve never purchased any of the printed mask versions myself, but it was nothing short of amusing.

told you…hahaha!

This is so wrong; but seriously, this mask delivered an impressive dose of moisture without any of the residual stickiness AND I got to look like this for 30 minutes.  Mask contains hyaluronic acid and lotus seed extract for dehydrated skin in need of moisture and soothing.

koelf-cosmetic-melting-essence-foot-pack

Koelf Melting Essence Hand or Foot Pack:  Retail Value $3.00

I received the foot pack version and have used similar versions in the past.  These are a pair of plastic booties that have the insides lined with a dry essence.  They come with sticky tabs to secure the booty around your ankle; which helps if you need to walk around, but it’s definitely best to pop these on, kick your feet up and relax for 20 minutes.  The essence melts to your feet from your body heat (and total foot suffocation) softening your skin with 7 herbs and avocado extract.  After removing, massage remaining essence in to your skin.  These really do make your feet feel really soft; but if you have serious callouses and/or rough dry skin, they’ll be back by the next day.  This product would be best suited for use following the removal of all of the rough dry skin…or after a good pedi. 😉

This is a great box for anyone who loves K-beauty as well as anyone wanting to give it a go! There were an excellent variety of products in this box covering a lot of areas and I really liked and will use/used everything this month, aside from the mascara  I love the time & care that they put in to the packaging and info cards, everything is very cute.  The fact that they have several options in different price ranges is a big plus as well.

    1. Yes. I have been pleased with all of my boxes from Miss Tutii and I really love having options. I have had really excellent results with Korean Beauty. There really are quite a few options to chose from now [box wise] Pink Seoul is nice as well, having several box options, including a version for 35+. I like that they have bi-monthly options so my full size products do not stack up so much.
