Hey Birchbox fans! My September Birchbox seems to still be sticking to products that fit my needs; and that makes me happy. What changes have you noticed in Birchbox since they made their big changes?
This Month I let Birchbox choose my goods as opposed to the featured box. I haven’t been real in to any of the curated boxes lately, they’ve been rather repetitive to me. I’ve been mostly picking the one sample choice option or leaving it entirely open. October’s ‘peek’ at the featured box has some pretty good items; but I’m real over glam glow and more than stocked on dry shampoo…so; I am sticking with the Tata Harper sample choice and leaving the rest to Birchbox again. Still totally standing by the notion that Birchbox is making a really good effort at selecting products they feel fit the individual [since making the big points changes and such last month.] This is the 4th month in which I’ve really noticed things like skin care for my acne prone skin, hair products for blondes and my hair type, shades I will actually wear etc. This month I received a favorite product of mine and a few well matched new products to try. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Birchbox since they’ve initiated their changes.
The Box:
The Goods:
Milk Makeup Highlight Stick in Lit: Deluxe Mini. Full Size $24.00
I love Milk Makeup and I love their ‘sticks’. The packaging is oh so cool and the ingredients equally so. With mango butter, peach nectar and avocado oils, this highlighting stick gives skin a subtle, dewy sheen and a hydration boost. I own three different varieties already but this version is new to me. The formula is super smooth and the sheen is gorgeous. I did a swatch below of this highlighter next to Milk’s matte bronzer; a favorite product of mine.

Avéne Thermal Spring Water: Travel Size $9.00 Full Size $14.00
This hydrating mist is designed to tone, refresh and calm your skin but can also be used as a makeup setting mist. I use this stuff like crazy, especially during the hottest months in my dry climate. It’s refreshing and feels like it’s replenishing my depleted moisture levels. I seem to get less oily when I use this type of mist throughout the day; not allowing my skin to get too dry, resulting in more oil production. I also find this spray calms my skin from redness, itching and irritation, heat rash, eczema..things of that nature. It’s nice to have these on hand and the smaller sizes are really great for travel. Any time I fly it messes with my skin really badly, instantly drying it out. These are perfect to bring along.
Beauty Protector Protect and Blonde Toning Shampoo: Deluxe Sample. Full Size $23.00
I LOVE purple shampoo. It’s hard keeping blonde at a really cool toned shade and these shampoos work wonders at keeping brassiness at bay. I currently use Lush’s Daddy-o, but am really happy to get a product such as this in a subscription box. It’s great that it’s from a brand with some excellent products. This version does contain sulfates though…
Klorane Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover with Soothing Cornflower: Travel size. Full Size $16.00
This is a nice, gentle eye makeup remover that bainishes eye makeup easily, while soothing sensitive eye areas. It’s a good enough product but I have a huge stash of this stuff…and prefer the pre-saturated eye makeup removing pads from Simple Skincare.
The Organic Pharmacy Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream: Deluxe Sample. Full Size $88.00
I’ve really liked every product that I have tried from this brand. This moisturizer has the natural rose scent and is very soothing to your skin. It’s designed to promote cell regeneration, soothe all skin types and even reduce broken capillaries. It feels a bit too rich for my skin to use by day, but it makes a good softening night treatment.
Thoughts!?
