Today I will be reviewing my September Glossybox.  Secret Garden; a specially designed Glossybox inspired by September, ‘the month of fashion’, that was illustrated by Antonio Soares, known for his avant-garde, high fashion style, is September’s Special Edition box.  The box itself is certainly gorgeous, but it pretty much ended there for me.  The products included were a total miss for me this month.  It’s not that they were bad products, just nothing I really cared for or that really worked for me. (There are generally a few variations in products) Read on and see what you think of this month’s products. Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that boasts 5 luxury beauty products each month, wrapped up in a lovely pink box.  The products are often full sized, if not; they are deluxe sized samples. The cost of the subscription is 21.00 per month with free shipping.

Glossybox has a classic monthly box but often does a special edition or collab/partner edition that replaces their regular box.  (like this, September version) These boxes generally have a unique box with special artwork or are labeled with the partnering brands/company’s logos etc. They are specially curated to fit the theme or contain some of the most popular brands/products spotlighted by said partnering brands/companies.  I get really excited for these boxes. The special edition boxes alone are often great for display or re-use in some way or another.  In addition to these unique monthly versions Glossybox also curates special, limited edition, [additional] one time purchase boxes, ie: Holiday, Mothers day etc. (you can scroll through the past boxes here -just scroll down the linked page a bit to view past boxes.) * If it does not have a month in the title than it is a special edition one time, additional purchase box, otherwise it was the box included in your subscription.

Sally Hershberger 24K Supreme Stylist Dry Shampoo:  Travel Size. $12.00 Full Size $32.00

As a person that is an avid user of dry shampoo; I still do not believe I will ever be able to use all of my dry shampoo [that I currently own].  My stance on dry shampoo currently is:  unless a brand has come up with something new and totally innovative in the dry shampoo arena, I’m not going to be excited about it.  This version smells good enough, works good enough and it looks nice.  It performs, maybe a bit better than some, but it’s nothing to get worked up over.  It’s not a basic dry shampoo, but more of a texturizer too, with some hold and some people may not like that.  This version does include UV protection for your hair and like others is designed to give your hair a boost in volume, refresh, banish grease and oil and just revive your hair altogether. (sans washing) It does these things and like most deposits minimal white powder that requires you to brush through your hair or just work through a bit if your hair is light.

Vince Camuto Capri: Fragrance Mini. Full Size $85.00

This fragrance, to me, is the opposite of ‘fall fashion’ more of a spring/summer fragrance for sure.  It’s pretty and it matches the box design some.  I’ve received Vince Camuto in the original version, same bottle.  It smells nearly the same to me.  It’s a pretty basic floral, nothing exciting and not really me.

Model Launcher Brow Duo Pencil:  Full Size $12.00

I received this pencil in taupe; which I assume is the shade everyone receiving it got, considering it ‘universal’.  This pencil isn’t bad, it has the newest tip style that Smashbox uses and Anastasia, I believe, has a version with a similar tip now as well…but I still prefer the finest tip available.  My brows are light and have always been super sparse. I prefer to use the tiny little hair like stroke method when doing my brows.  I practically do the same method as micro-blading on mine each day… only without the semi permanence. 😉  I use the long lasting fine tip Tony Moly Brow pens on mine and then to soften them a blonde fiberized brow gel/type product….this duo method works excellent for me but could go horribly wrong if you do not know what your are doing haha!  So; I can use this in a pinch, to fill my sparse brows when I’m in a hurry and the taupe shade of this particular product works OK for me as long as I am light handed; I’m just really particular about my brows and brow products.

Korres Modern Greek Apothecary Twist Lipstick:  Full Size $18.00

This twist up lip crayon has a glossy finish and rich color without harmful additives.  It contains raspberry seed oil, antioxidant protection for hydration and other natural ingredients.  This product was sent in various colors and much to my dismay, I received the intense red shade.  The formula is really nice, it’s very smooth and creamy, it did seem hydrating.  The pigment is great as well.  A good product.  I never wear red though.  I simply do not like it on me…bummer.

It’s a great red if you wear it though…

Sesderma Sensyses Cleanser & C-Vit Moisturizing Serum: Mini (duo). Full Size (cleanser) $20.00 (serum) $52.00

This is a mini version of Sesderma’s cleansing water (solution) and a vitamin C moisturizing serum.  This brand is totally new to me but I have read good things about it.  The cleanser I can use to replace my last cleansing step and in the mornings.  I have not noticed any ‘lightening’ or anything yet and uncertain if I’ll be able to determine if it is effective in that arena before it’s empty, it’s a small bottle.  The vitamin c serum is tiny as well but takes very little used around the mouth and eye areas.  I’ve been applying it prior to my eye cream around my eye area and as additional ‘support’ around my mouth area.  It’s pretty light, a bit sticky.  It has not been that long but it seems to add a bit of moisture.  Time will tell.
