Popsugar Must Have October 2016

October Must Have is here and it’s filled with treats to kickstart your fall!  I always love when my PSMH box includes a bath product.  There is nothing better to me, at the end of my day, then a warm relaxing bubble bath.  I call it ‘My factory reset’  and then I can begin my evening, the portion of my day that does not involve legos and countless snack requests.  😉  The Must have mini was a nice companion to the original must have this month. It’s no secret that I love PSMH, anticipating what the next box will bring, digging through my box upon arrival, trying everything, finding places in my home for others.  It is simply stated: a really fun box, with a little of everything. This particular box is no exception:

If you are new to the game; Popsugar Must Have is a  Lifestyle Subscription Box service, delivered to your door monthly for $39.95 (free shipping) and is valued at over $100.00.

*They also curate several 1 time purchase, luxury, limited edition boxes that are fabulous!

NEW  Popsugar has also recently launched their newest monthly addition ‘the mini’.  This version released its very first box in April.  You can read my review for the first box and all about the subscription here!

Each Must Have box is filled with the best in fashion, beauty, home, fitness, food and more; curated by Popsugar Editor in Chief Lisa Sugar.  I personally adore this box and look forward to receiving it each month.  They may not hit it right on the mark, every time, for everyone but most of the time, for me; they do a really good job.  I really enjoy receiving such a wide variety of products in one sub box and I love the anticipation of such!  I generally like and use all of the products I receive yet in the event something does not suit me it is always something of quality that I can gift it to another.  PSMH works with many good, quality, relevant and on trend brands, many of them high end so it’s a great box for receiving tried and true products/brands as well as new products and up and comers!  2 words: Beauty Blender!!   Thinking of taking the plunge?  Check it out here!

The Goods:

First Up ‘Special Extra 1’ The Book by Popsugar Founder; Lisa Sugar.

lisa-sugar-power-your-happy

Power you Happy Hardcover Book by Lisa Sugar:  Sugg. Retail $25.00

Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life by Lisa Sugar.  This memoir by Popsugar’s Founder, Lisa Sugar entails encouraging stories, career and personal advice.  I love books and I am an avid reader, several books a week, most weeks.  This being said; self help, inspo type books are really not my thing…maybe an article or blog post on a particular subject if it’s really good, inspiring, but a full book, eh.  Obviously, Lisa Sugar has some great tips and advice to share, so I do plan to flip through it and see what it has to offer.   I’m sure I will learn something.  😉  You can pick this book up at Target (they discount all new releases) for $18.75.

‘Special Extra 2’

revlon-colorstay-liquid-eye-pen-ball-point

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen:  $8.99

Different styles of this eyeliner were sent out and I received the ‘ball point’ version.  I like this version; it still creates a precise line but the teeny ball on the end allows for easier ‘dot creations’  I sometimes do these tiny dots under a wing or at the end of it.  It’s a fun look and this product makes it super easy.

Here is the eyeliner swatch (a little bleeding, but this tends to only really happen on my arm, dry skin I assume)  Never mind the lip swatches…I forever have something swatched on my arm. 😉

the-original-mini-makep-eraser

Makeup Eraser Mini:  Sugg. Retail $12.00

This is your travel sized version of the original makeup eraser.  Just wetting this cloth with warm water gently removes even waterproof formulas and it’s described as being effective through 1000 washes.  I have used these before, and they work, but I still do not feel like they eliminate any of my cleansing steps for me.  I think these cloths are best for ridding your face of heavy makeup prior to your cleansing routine or for those that wear very little on their face and just want to quickly clean their skin.  I do love how super soft these cloths are!

henri-bendel

Henri Bendel Packable Umbrella:  Sugg Retail $58.00

Umbrella use is something rarely needed where I live, but late fall and winter is when we generally see some. It’s nice to have a small packable umbrella to have around when I do need it.  Much better this than the cheap versions I grab from CVS, in a pinch, after remembering: “Oh yea, this is what rain does to my hair”  When you open the umbrella it has the cute and somewhat large Henri Bendel signature printed in the red/pink shade; much to my husband’s demise, when in need at the last minute.  He opted for the cheap black CVS model.  HA!

lalicious-brown-sugar-vanilla-shower-oil

Lalicious Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil & Bubble Bath:  Sugg. Retail $28.00

This is my favorite product this month.  I have never heard of this brand prior but the packaging is simple and pretty, the scent is warm and sweet; the perfect comfy, cozy scent for fall & winter.  It works great in the shower as a shower oil (shaving too)  but I love it for a luxurious bubble bath.  I do not often use the discount codes and such I receive in my boxes, but I will definitely use this one.

rise-and-shine-mug-by-morning-culture

Morning Culture Rise & Shine Diner Mug:  Sugg. Retail $16.00

I use a mug every day, Ok a few times each day.  Cool Mugs make me happy, this one is simple and I dig the classic diner style.  Of course it will pair perfectly with the…

…hot chocolate, of course

my-cup-of-coffee-dark-drinking-chocolate

My Cup of Cocoa Dark Drinking Chocolate: Sugg. Retail $4.99

I’m not quite there yet, at the Hot cocoa place.  When the fireplace comes on and the season arrives in which I convince myself that calories are like Santa… that is when the Hot Cocoa comes out.  😉  I am sure it’s delicious though and I look forward to trying it, stacked high with marshmallows.

I also get the PSMH box every month and really love it but this month was a disappointment for me. The only product that I will probably use is the coffee mug, everything else seems mediocre.

yea, totally not my favorite box either…but my favorite product was definitely the body wash/bubble bath. It’s an oil/gel formula and actually quite nice. Reminds me of the L’Occitane Shower oil. Not the scent I’d choose my self, but nice, and fitting for this time of year. The mug is cute too. The rest is ‘meh’.
