Hey Beauty Fans, October’s Beauty Box has arrived and it’s filled with the season’s best; the simple staples to assist in the transition to cooler weather. This box is filled with some excellent products; I’ll take a product from the beautifully packaged, ultra luxe Tatcha any day… and Spongellé is a staple in my bath. As for the hair products, while both great items, I can’t even begin to tell you how many of each I have received in both travel sizes and full sizes…so this box was good, but not great. A few specific products and brands are becoming far too repetitive and I am craving some variety and or some hot new items.
About:
For $15.00 per month you will receive a box containing 5 or more deluxe sized beauty products from today’s most luxurious brands.
One of my favorite things about the Allure Beauty Box is how carefully it is curated and the awesome little mini mag that is included in each box. It gives excellent descriptions and tips for each item in the box with a descriptive and down to earth introduction to the boxes content. I love the beauty director’s honest representation of each product.
The Box:
The Goods:
Spongellé Freesia Pear Body Wash Infused Buffer: 1 Full Sized Multi-Use Buffer $15.00
This was my favorite item in this month’s box, a limited edition Spongelle collaboration with Allure. I love the freesia pear scent and the pretty white and gold box. If you have never used Spongellé products before, they are a dense sponge, pre-saturated with body wash, designed to cleanse, moisturize, exfoliate and massage, and allow for multiple uses. They carry several different types, including kid’s & travel versions and offer several great scents. After receiving a couple of different Spongellé products I purchased my own haul and have been hooked ever since. It lasts the perfect amount of time and then your off to a fresh new sponge. Plus, they look really nice in your bath area; I love their packaging. I’m also thrilled that a 25% off code was included, that paired with their point system, points I have in my account from prior orders, tells me it’s time for another haul. 😉
Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Hand Cream: Mini Travel Size $8.00
Tatcha is such a beautiful, luxurious brand…and it comes with a price tag to match; but, this does not stop me from wanting every single product from the brand. This hand cream is no exception, with it’s gorgeous indigo hue and it’s divine scent, it soothes my rough dry hands and keeps the moisturized. The Japanese Indigo in this product is known for its healing and soothing abilities, making this product excellent for those with sensitive skin and anyone suffering from inflamed or irritated skin consistent with symptoms of dermatitis and eczema, which just so happens is the perfect product type for me. I look forward to trying additional products from this indigo line and think I’ll snag the set of 4 indigo minis to see what I think.
…and it’s even pretty out of the tube.
Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Single in Kristi: 1 magnetic eyeshadow single $10.00
This is a small eyeshadow single with a slide-off lucite top and a magnetic backing for placing in a palette. It’s a pretty brown/bronzey shade with a touch of shimmer and though teeny, really pretty, with its basket weave design. The shadow itself has a nice texture and pigment. On the site I could only find these available in quad palettes for $35.00 each.

Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara: Full Size $20.00
This is a good mascara, but not a great mascara. (at least for those of us with puny blonde lashes) The packaging is cute and barbie like and the brush is nice. The formula manages to give me some length and volume but it’s not a statement mascara. Worn over a good lash primer I can get the extra ‘oomph’ I desire.
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Hair Mask: Deluxe Mini. Full Size $36.00
I really do like this stuff, it can be used as a basic 3rd step after conditioner; applied and rinsed offering results but if you go that extra mile using it as a full on treatment, applying, wrapping hair in a towel and leaving on a while prior to rinsing; it really does a great job of transforming my tangly, color treated, coarse, dry hair. Problem is: I have so many sample/mini bottles and tubs of this and most recently received the big full sized tub as well. I definitely do not need any more of it.
Klorane Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk: Travel Size. Full size $20.00
And last but not least…how many times have I reviewed this? I’ve lost count. What I can say is that I have 11 bottles of it, I counted. I have 2 full sized bottles and 9 travel sized versions. It’s a good dry shampoo, does its job, soaks up the oil, gives a little texture, volume, no weird smell…If you are looking for a good dry shampoo, this is one of the good ones. If you ever hear me say that I am purchasing a dry shampoo, stop me. Please.
Ok; so, not a bad bunch of products. Here’s to hoping next month’s subs will steer clear of Klorane, briogeo and another popular sub brand, Avene; all great brands and products, just simply way over saturated amongst the beauty sub world. One can dream! What did you think of October’s Allure? Which products/brands have you had your fill of lately?
