Another really cute, quality bag this month.

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service.  Each month, subscribers will receive an awesome Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.

I have been a member for more than 3 years and I absolutely love it.  I have discovered so many excellent products through Ipsy!  I may not always love everything I receive but for only 10.00 a month it is such a fun surprise to look forward to each month!  Ipsy spotlights numerous brands each month and you will generally receive something from 5 of them!  In addition to the products received you will get discount codes from most brands…even the ones that you do not receive!  This months’ discounts include but are not limited to:  Indi Beauty, trust fund Beauty, Promise Organic, Leaders USA, Besame, Beauty Kitchen Ciate London… and many more, the discounts range between 10% -50% off purchase (averaging at 20-25%) and are occasionally a dollar amount.  They sometimes include a gift with purchase.

Ipsy also offers curated sets and other products throughout the month that can be purchased at a special price!  I LOVE THESE!  Current set specials available are from: Mellow Cosmetics (I just snagged this eyeshadow palette myself.)  I do not know a whole lot about the brand but did receive one eyeshadow single once in an ipsy bag, and I loved the shade, quality and pigment.  For 15 bucks I thought it was worth a go. 😉  There is also a too faced lip duo, a Japonesque strobing set and an Em Cosmetics lipstick set all up for grabs, at great discounts, for a very limited time.  (link to these)

Another perk is the point system.  You can review your bag and items each month to save points for additional products!

Ipsy also has a giveaways section.  Every month, you can win AMAZING hauls from their Glam Bag partners..and let me tell you there are SO many great ones each month…This month there are contest/giveaways from: Ofra, Indie Lee, Verb, Besame, Leaders, bonvivant… and so many more!

So go ahead, take the beauty quiz, get your first Glam Bag, watch the videos, and create your own!

The Masks

leaders-aquaringer-sheet-mask

Leaders USA Aquaringer Treatment Sheet Mask:  1 Mask $5.00

leaders-aloe-soothing

Leaders USA Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask:  1 Sheet Mask $5.00

Anyone who follows me via Instagram or reads my blog regularly knows that I love Sheet Masks, (all masks) Skin Care; especially Kbeauty, and other Asian Beauty brands/Products.  Obsessed, really.  I’m thrilled that Ipsy included 2 Leaders masks, one of my favorite sheet mask brands, as ‘a’ product in my bag this month.  I’ve tried numerous masks from each of Leader’s mask lines, and they never disappoint.

The Aqua ringer is a great option if your skin is really dry/dehydrated and you need a blast of moisture stat.

The Aloe Soothing Mask is great for a moisture boost, overall soothing and redness relief.

I used the Aloe Soothing mask last night, for my nightly session, b/c my skin is dehydrated, dry in areas, but a bit aggravated and inflamed at the moment.  This line comes really folded up as it’s inside a smaller mask package.  They are completely drenched in the essence/serum product. (with plenty left over in the packet for afterwards or later)  The cotton masks in this line are soft and really spring-y.  I like the fit of these and they adhere really well.   I removed the mask about 20 minutes later and a significant amount of the essence still remained on my skin.  Once I pat it in some, it was mostly absorbed in about 5 more minutes.  The redness on my face was significantly reduced and the moisture boost carried on in to the next morning.  Great results for me and I highly recommend leaders masks.  I always search my stash for a Leaders mask when my skin is suffering breakouts, redness and the like.  They seem to help out the best for me.

tarte-maracuja-oil

Tarte Maracuja Oil: Vial Mini (travel size) $15.00

When this product first launched, I loved it and used it like crazy…(among many other great skincare items) and then one day, my skin went mad, hormonal breakouts ensued, my own skin became a stranger to me and everything seemed to aggravate and break it out.  Oils became the obvious, most terrifying product to use at this point, so I banished most everything and started over, after a trip to the dermatologist.  Spoiler:  I still struggle, it’s better, and I can remain under control for about a couple of months at a time in most cases, but there has never been a fix for me and nothing the doctor prescribed or recommend helped much at all…  And now that I’ve taken us way off course…. I’ll get back on track;  it’s still a great product.  I have the rollerball versions I use around my eyes and I am able to use oils again in concentrated areas (like the laugh lines around the mouth area) without issue.  This product can also be used on your hair, cuticles, essentially any area that is dry and in need of a boost.  It’s packed with vitamin c and fatty acids for plumping and brightening up the skin and comes with a convenient dropper style applicator.  I’ll be honest though; if my pores could tolerate it, I would slather my skin in oils day and night b/c the benefits really are excellent.  Oh how I miss clear, normal skin. 😦  Damn aging hormones.

elizabeth-mott-color-is-bae

Elizabeth Mott Color is Bae Lip Lacquer in Moxy Mauve: I believe this is the deluxe mini.  Full Size $20.00

I was really pleased that I received this in my ‘go-to everyday pinky-nude type shade’ and not the red pictured in the spoiler photo.  I’ve not been too ‘in to’ Elizabeth Mott products I’ve received in the past but I am a fan of this lip product.  It’s kind of a thin, lip paint, easy to apply, it does take a little coating for perfect full coverage, but it’s super lightweight and feels very comfortable on.  The lightweight formula didn’t crack or make my drier lips look worse, so it totally works for me.  The perfect shade paired with a comfortable, matte finish, stay on formula, equals a win for me.

the-balm-mad-lash

the Balm Mad Lash black Mascara:  Deluxe Sample.  Full Size $18.00

So as for the Balm…the brand is fun, their packaging is really cool…it always reminds me a bit of early too faced, the quickie chronicles and such, but I just can’t ever get excited about the brand, as every time I get to try something it arrives in the most frustratingly tiny quantities and packaging, I’m never really certain how I feel about the actual products…enough to want to purchase anything, that is.  The mascara was kind of the same,  sample-y.   While other brands spotlighted always create a travel size/deluxe size version of their mascara that lasts the right amount of time I need it to, prior to wanting a shiny new version…this again, is more of a ‘sample’, and not something you would purchase for $10-12.00.  You can tell if you look closely that it has that sample-esque looking wand version and instead of a traditional mascara tube, the wand just snaps on once placed inside the plastic tube.  All of this aside; this mascara actually really surprised me.  I love the brush and the formula and it allowed me to achieve the mega length and volume I require, in a formula that worked for me.  I do always begin with a lash primer in order to protect, condition and give my lashes the extra volume/length boost they need, which obviously gives any mascara I use a helping hand..but I loved the results I achieved when pairing the two.  I currently have several go-to mascaras but I do get bored using the same thing all of the time and I’d definitely be willing to try this in a full size.  $18.00 is not a bad price either.

naobay-eye-contour-cream

Naobay Renewal Antiox Eye Contour Cream:  Deluxe Sample.  Full Size $28.00

I’ve used a few products from this brand before, but it’s been a while.  They are a strict environmentally conscious, natural and organic skin care brand.  This eye cream uses resveratrol, a ferment ingredient derived from grape skins, and something I’ve been seeing a lot of lately.  It also contains a soothing cinnamon extract and is free of fragrance.  This eye cream is a medium/light weight/consistency, soothing and likely a good for sensitive skin.  I’ve not used it long enough to notice anything much, but I like it enough to finish up the tube and decide.

I’ve been pretty pleased with my ipsy bags lately.  Solid products.  Bags that keep getting better.  I’ve really enjoyed my very long term membership and watching the company grow.  I really enjoy every aspect of this inexpensive little beauty subscription.

I feel like for 10 bucks, it’s a win. I think that they have really upped their game as of late and they have such a huge brand offering. The makeup bags have gotten to be of much better quality with really cute designs, and while I know you can only have so many, lately I’ve been keeping all of mine because I like them so much. The other perks of being a subscriber have gotten really good as well. I find the sub totally worth it.

Ugh. I know. Me too. For a long time there were not any new releases in higher end mascaras that I thought were too special and then the past two months, from Ipsy I got the It Cosmetics Superhero and this Balm version. Both super impressive. I honestly prefer the minis though so I really never buy mascara, aside from new drugstore launches to try!

Wow your devotion to ipsy is impressive! I usually get bored/frustrated with subscription boxes after a few months.

I so feel you on the skin issues – I’ve struggled with them almost all my life and the majority of this year was brutual – I was dealing with painful cystic acne so bad that I didn’t want to leave the house. I tried so many things and I think I finally have a handle on it. I suspect my multi-vitamin was playing a bit part so I switched that. I also started taking a fibre supplement every day. My skin has cleared up so much and I haven’t a breakout in over a month which is huge for me!
I love mixing a drop of that Maracuja Oil in with a foundation, particularly in the Winter months.

Hahaha. I likely sound a bit like a lunatic, ey? I’ve added many subs over the years, switched them around, canceled plenty, have had changes in types of products I desire…etc. but Ipsy was the very first subscription I subscribed too, there were times I considered letting it go…but then it would improve and so on. I really like all of the extras that coincide with it too. My skin problems did not pop up until my mid-thirties and they literally popped up over night. It is quite depressing. I wonder what in your multi-vitamin might play a part in it? I take one as well, so this definitely has me curious. Digestive system can definitely be linked to acne so maybe this is why the fiber helped you. There are so many causes and you can really wreck yourself trying to get to the bottom of it. I know I have. Mine is not quite cystic acne, aside from one spot that I constantly get the same one..but it’s similar in the fact that it is deep under the skin, only slightly raised and very red, never surfaces. I also suffer autoimmune issues and products to target the breakouts cause those to flare up. I’m certain it’s all linked. Mid to late 30’s have not been kind to me. 😦 The best I have found to help with mine, aside from skin care, is limiting carbs, no sugar, very large amounts of water and several shots of ACV w/ ‘the mother’ daily as well as hyaluronic acid taken in oral form. Even when everything seems to be going right, and I have a couple of good months, with no change on my end, it will still one day go haywire and then I will battle it again for a good month before regaining control. I do hope it ends some day. Very happy for you finding some success in dealing with yours. I know how terribly upsetting it is.

I’ve been getting masks in my ipsy bags lately. Have you checked out any of the kbeauty/mask subscriptions? Do you check out the ipsy deals? They’ve had mask sets lately for really low prices!
