Ipsy is a monthly subscription service.  Each month, subscribers will receive an awesome Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.

I have been a member for more than 3 years and I absolutely love it.  I have discovered so many excellent products through Ipsy!  I may not always love everything I receive but for only 10.00 a month it is such a fun surprise to look forward to each month!  Ipsy spotlights numerous brands each month and you will generally receive something from 5 of them!  In addition to the products received you will get discount codes from most brands…even the ones that you do not receive!  This months’ discounts include but are not limited to:  Biobelle, Kensie, Luna, Luxie Beauty, Naked Cosmetics, Nyx and many more, the discounts range between 10% -50% off purchase (averaging at 20-25%) and are occasionally a dollar amount.  They sometimes include a gift with purchase.

Ipsy also offers curated sets and other products throughout the month that can be purchased at a special price!  I LOVE THESE!  The current available options are: a Luxie Beauty Mini Detail Eye Brush Set for $17.00 & Eva NYC Clip Free Curler in Black & Gold Marble for $39.00

Another perk is the point system.  You can review your bag and items each month to save points for additional products! They currently have some great full size products from Hourglass and Skin Iceland for 600-800 points

Ipsy also has a giveaways section.  Every month, you can win AMAZING hauls from their Glam Bag partners..and let me tell you there are SO many great ones each month…This month there are contest/giveaways from:  The Organic Pharmacy, Kensie, Promise Organic, Nyx, Biobelle, Indie Lee, Winky Lux and so many more!

So go ahead, take the beauty quiz, get your first Glam Bag, watch the videos, and create your own!

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I Give Good Tweet: Full Size $15.00

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish is vegan, cruelty free and 10 free.  I could not begin to name all 10 of the items this polish is free from that most polishes are not, but I believe 10 free is a first for me, 5 free, pretty common these days…so I guess it is safe to say this is one of the better for you formulas on the market.  I have several TFB nail polishes and like the brand.  The robin’s egg blue shade I received is one I will actually wear quite a bit too.  I could not find this shade sold separately on the site, but they do have a set that includes this shade.  Link provided above.

naked-cosmetics-banana-finishing-powder

Naked Cosmetics HD Finishing Powder in Banana: Full Size $23.99 Special $14.99

I have been meaning to pick up one of the popular loose banana finishing powders for some time, I actually had one in my cart and saw I was getting this in my ipsy bag, so I held off.  I’m not a big finishing powder or powder for coverage person, but there are some nice contouring and highlighting powders out and ultra finely milled finishing powders that are designed to set your look without settling in to lines and pores.  The banana shade acts as a subtle color corrector, making it good for the shadowy under eye area, which is why I’ve wanted to try one out.  I think I prefer the pressed diffusing type powders and versions that try to mimic filters more.  This one is not bad, but still seems a bit heavy to me, making pores and such a bit more visible.  Not bad, just not my best fit.  Shade is great.

true-organics-lip-eye

The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream: Full Size $48.00

It always feels like a major score when I receive a product from the Organic Pharmacy in my Ipsy bags.  I have really liked every product I have tried.  This product feels really rich and only requires the teeniest bit in your eye area, but absorbs well enough to work for day time use, not interfering with other products.  I’ve not noticed much for puffiness or under eye dark circles, but it’s definitely moisturizing and I like it on and around my lips, it’s very soothing.  It’s loaded with nourishing ingredients such as shea butter, bilberry, evening primrose, rose hip and frankincense, designed to keep the eye and lip area plump, moist and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Nyx Cosmetics butter Lipstick in Lifeguard:  Full Size $6.00 sale from NYX’ Site $3.60

These Smooth, Creamy lipsticks from Nyx Cosmetics come in over 30 shades.  This particular shade, aptly named, lifeguard, went on smooth and creamy yet ultra light weight with excellent pigment.  Nyx makes some excellent lip products, always on trend at affordable prices.  As much as I love this shade, I’ll never wear it; red lipstick for me, is the equivalent of being under a magnifying glass.  I bet this shade looks gorgeous on many though.

lord-berry-black-eye-pencil

Lord & Berry Line/Shade eye Pencil in #221 Black: Travel Size.  Full Size $19.00

I initially turned my nose up at this product, as I’m a liquid or Gel liner girl; but, this was a surprisingly smooth softer kohl type formula, good for lining and smudging, without skipping or tugging.  It’s shorter size will make it nice for travel.  It’s also waterproof, which is always a major plus for watery, sensitive eyes.

I’ve been pretty pleased with my ipsy bags lately.  Solid products.  Bags have been getting better and better, this months, with its neon orange piped denim, it was pretty 80’s, begging for spatter paint.  I wasn’t a big fan, so I gave mine an upgrade:

I stopped my subscription to Ipsy in January because the items I was receiving didn’t match up to my preferences 😦 but your bags look awesome!

Yea, I hear ya. I’ve been getting the bag for years… I’ve went through periods where I have not been a fan of the content, but could never bring myself to cancel as it was my lowest priced subs. I’ve been really happy with mine for some time though and even when I only use an item or two, the value on those items is generally still more than the bag. This one had a value well over 80.00. Not too shabby. I canceled Birchbox for the same reason though. Constant hair samples and so many repeat items, plus no more point perks 😦
