Want your own?

Ricky’s Cult Crushes is a monthly beauty box subscription.  The cost for this box is $11.00 per month, which you will be auto billed for toward the beginning of each month.  In my experience (thus far) it appears that there will be 5 products in each box that make up a kit, or specific theme.  The themes from Nov-Jan have consisted of: ‘The Perfect Lip’, a box consisting of products to prep, plump and create the perfect lip look, a glitzy box containing items to create a full on glam, party look and this month’s box, ‘Classic Cat Eye’ which contains everything you will need to create just that.

Burts Bees eye Makeup Remover Pads

Burt’s Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads:  Full Size $5.99

These work great on my basic everyday makeup eyes and are super gentle.  If you go about it carefully they remove everything without smearing a black mess all over your face as with the cleansing oils I often use to remove my eye makeup.  Unfortunately, when attempting to remove a full on eye look they do require a couple of pads and then one last pad for some under eye remnants.  Nice to have for travel and basic makeup days and great for ultra sensitive eyes.  No noticeable scent.

meow meow tweet tweet deodorant stick

Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Stick: Mini Size Tube $14.00

This Lavender Bergamot Deodorant stick contains potent plant and mineral powders with essential oils designed to keep you smelling fresh.  This non irritating, skin conditioning deodorant is made with organic plant oils and butters and meant to moisturize and soothe even the most sensitive skin.

This product is formulated using only a touch of baking soda, with Magnesium being the main player.  This deodorant is available in two unique scents, the Lavender Bergamot, a sweet floral with a squeeze of citrus & lemon eucalyptus, a fresh and clean scent with a spicy hint of clove.  The packaging is biodegradable, and will compost in a year.  I loved the scent of this at first sniff and really, really wanted to love it, but unfortunately after a couple of hours on me, it didn’t smell so hot anymore.  It kept me mostly dry, but it was a pretty low intensity day.  I wish I was the type that could just smooth on a bit of all natural deo and go about my day,  but it simply does not seem to be in the cards.  😦

It looks like this…

ella mila nail polish

Ella+Mia Nail Polish, Naughty Not Nice:  Full Size $9.00

A bit surprised by the shade choice, it definitely doesn’t scream ‘Earth Day or Spring’ to me, but applied it has a bit of a 70’s vibe to it [for some reason] and it looked great with my sandals.  This 5 free polish actually applied like a dream.  I only needed one coat and it lasted on my toes for some time without chipping.  Great brand.

Here it is on (keep in mind this was a one minute job)

crazy rumors mint choco chip lip balm

Crazy Rumors Mint chocolate Lip Balm:  Full Size $3.50

This vegan lip balm is comprised of butters, oils & waxes with soothing peppermint.  I have way too many lip balms, yet it never seems to stop me from snagging one any time I see something new out.  This one is soothing enough and I like the mint chocolate scent.

Ok, so;  I loved the theme and box composition this month, not everything was a hit but I still enjoyed the content and trying some new items.  The value of this box was about 42.50,  for only $11.00 a month. I think it’s totally worth it for anyone considering this box.

Well; what do you think about Ricky’s NYC’s contribution to the beauty sub world?  Who’s crushing?!

SUPER CUTE BOX! I have to say all non-mainstream deodorants fail for me. I have tried so many things and within a few hours I whip my spare emergency deodorant out. I’m one of those people that have it in like 10 different places.

Yes. I am the same. This issue definitely increased as I’ve aged too 😦 I recently gave Tarte’s new Deo a try, it worked a little better than others but still didn’t quite do the trick for me. I’ve tried Clean fragrances version and loads of natural versions. Anxiety and underarm perspiration go hand in hand, bring on the hormonal ‘issues’ as well and you need the heavy stuff; unfortunately..

Great post! You got some great stuff! I’ve never heard of this beauty box. I currently get Ipsy and Sephora Play. Do you get any other beauty boxes?

This one is fairly new and I really like how they choose a theme each month! I get Ipsy and Play as well plus; Allure, Korean/Asian beauty subs: WIN (what is next) beauty kit, Miss Tutti Box & Pink Seoul, and then I get Rachel Zoe box of style quarterly, I just received my first bless box (really impressed) and Popsugar Must Have lifestyle sub. Unfortunately several of my subs arrive late in the month ( received one yesterday another Friday) making it hard to review during their current month…but I should have all of these up this coming week!

It is. I’ve had several others over the years, some that have ended on their own terms, some I have canceled once I grew bored with them..it’s nice to change it up sometimes. xx

I end up getting a lot of stuff I don’t use with just the two boxes. I usually just give the stuff I don’t want to my co-workers, which they really like.
