It’s Here, It’s Here!!!
My special Edition Holiday Box arrived today and I was surprised to receive it so early. I’d not yet received an email shipment notification. (I received it several hours after getting my box) Ha!
*This box is not part of the Popsugar Must Have monthly subscription. It is a special one time purchase. Cost is: $100.00 The value of this particular box according to the info card is: $416.50 It is currently still available for purchase via Popsugar Must Have’s Website. A Popsugar Must Have Special Edition for Him is also available on the site for $100.00. There has been one spoiler released for the ‘for him’ version; photo below:
Special Edition Holiday ‘for him’ Spoiler
And now on to the box:
The Goods:
Elizabeth Cole Jewelry Adelia Cuff: Suggested Retail: $167.50
This is an antique gold-plated, Swarovski crystal adorned cuff created specifically for Popsugar, but is available on elizabethcolejewelry.com for $168.00.
This bracelet was the big spoiler for the box this year. I liked it when I saw it but I like it much more in person. It’s sparkly and flashy without being gaudy and the perfect everyday, easy to wear piece for delivering a little holiday sparkle. It makes a statement while still being somewhat dainty.
Et Al Designs Dot Candles: Suggested Retail: $24.00
These are a tall, white candlestick embellished with hand painted, silver glitter polka dots. This set is not available on their site but I found a similar pair from the brand here for $22.00
These candles are cute, look nice in the included candlestick holders and are the perfect touch to my existing holiday decor but I did feel that their quality could have been a bit better. The first candle was a bit small inside the holder and the second candle was too large so I had to carefully twist it in, shaving off a good amount of wax so it would fit. Their shape is not perfect and I feel like it should be…
Nima Oberoi Lunares Orb Candlestick Holders: Suggested Retail: $69.00
These exclusive candlestick holders by San francisco designer Nima Oberoi are handcrafted to not tarnish or break. I found these on the Lunareshome.com site for $45.00…tsk tsk, Popsugarmh
These Candle Holders look nice with the candles and I gained a nice piece of Holiday Decor by receiving them. I like them, but I would not pick them out on my own with so many candlestick holder designs to chose from. I do love that they are from a San Francisco based designer. 🙂
Here they are: (the candlesticks and the holders) in my home
White + Warren Luxe Knotted Headband: Suggested Retail: $88.00
This is another Must Have exclusive product, an Ultra soft, hand knit, Cashmere, Luxe, Knotted headband. This version is unavailable on their site but they do carry a different cashmere headband for $95.00 I did find the exact version I received on a couple of different brand sites but they were all sold out.
This headband is a super popular style that you see everywhere…the difference in this one being: that it’s cashmere. It really is super soft and as I wore similar styles often the past couple of years; I will likely wear this often and enjoy the fact that it will not make my forehead itchy like my less expensive scratchy wool (or the like) versions.
Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight body Lotion: Suggested Retail: $39.00
This is an illuminating lotion designed to keep your skin dewey and radiant despite the winter chill with a blend of avocado, jojoba, and botanical extracts. This vegan lotion is designed to moisturize the body, face and even hair.
This is a nice, ultra moisturizing lotion with a light, botanical scent. I’ve not tried it in my hair; likely will not, but I love it as a body lotion. It gives your skin an instant glow-y, dewey look, (like you see on runway skin) making it great for your legs, It instantly makes your skin look better; smoother, brighter and diminishes flaws. I wish I owned it in a 10 gallon drum as opposed to this 8 oz pouch…b/c it’s that good. I found that it is also available in tinted shades if you’re so inclined! 🙂 This particular version is simply labeled ‘plain’
Butter London Lip Service: Suggested Retail: $29.00
A set of four Butter London highly pigmented, moisturizing Lippys with two exclusive shades.
I have almost purchased a set of these, from Ulta, numerous times. I’m glad I finally have them. I really like them: The formula is very pigmented and has a great, non sticky texture that feels really comfortable on the lips. The nude shade is perfection. I have had so many fails searching for a great nude: they are either to orangey, to pink or are so light they make me look like a corpse. This one is spot on for me and I will use it up quickly. the other shades are nice as well and I am very pleased to own this set.
Swatch of each lippy (in order they are placed inside the box)
Me, sporting the nude shade (but mostly this photo is just documented proof that I wore my hair down once in December and not in a messy bun….;)
Estée Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Eau De Parfum: Sample
This was just a little sample vial, quite a bit longer than your typical vial but a sample vial nonetheless. I feel like we could have at least gotten a nice rollerball fragrance as opposed to this. It is listed on the card but not given a value so I assume it was just meant to be a little extra. Either way, I’m not a fan. It’s not my type of scent. to me; it just smells common and ‘old’
SO….What do you think of the Holiday Box? Is it worth the $100.00 price tag? I was uncertain at first. I thought the home items could have been a bit better, was annoyed about the perfume sample but the box has grown on me. The candle stick set looks lovely with my Holiday decor, I adore the bracelet which is valued at much more than the box cost, I realized that the headband was cashmere and that the lotion was not your average lotion and the lippys are simply fab too. All in all I really enjoy the content and am going to get a lot of use from every item (sans the perfume vial.) I am really happy with it! I did reevaluate the box value a bit, based on my own findings and came to a total value of $391.00, as opposed to the $416.50 total value the prices on the info card reflect. It’s still a great value for the cost so I will let it slide, Popsugar. 😉
