The Box mini:
This is the second month of ‘the mini’ and those of you whom read my review last month know I initially felt a bit unimpressed with the launch box in this category. After receiving my original monthly PSMH box I felt quite a bit better about it, odd as that may seem; as together, they worked perfectly, making the mini version make much more sense. I’ve only just received this months mini and have not received my full sized version as of yet so only time will tell if I am correct in my little ‘epiphany’; but, based on the first month I feel like the mini is more of a ‘booster pack’ for the original making both the content and the value better when you subscribe to both boxes. (check out my reviews for April’s Must Have & Must Have Mini) The value on this month’s mini seemed quite a bit higher than the first month but I’ll get to that later, and just as last month the box featured only 2 products.

The Goods:
H2O + Oasis Hydrating Treatment: Sugg. Retail $38.00
This has been kind of a cult favorite hydrating product for many years but it is my first time trying it personally. I was happy, upon opening the tub to find that the product is a gel cream as my skin seems to tolerate formulas such as this better than heavy creams, especially for day time use. The product is an ocean blue shade and has a light marine type scent. It smells really nice. It feels light, cool and ultra hydrating upon application and I really like the product and feel like it really delivers in the hydrating department without being heavy or pore clogging. I’ve also been putting it on my neck a couple times a day for a moisture boost as well as a kind of ‘pick me up’. I did however find that while H2o + does have this product on their site (different packaging) for $36.00 (um…almost the $38.00 listed, right? haha) you can purchase this product at Ulta for $18.00, also different packaging. Pretty huge price difference…
…and here is what it looks like
Zing Anything Zingo Tritan, White: Sugg. Retail $12.99
This is a 22 oz citrus infusing water bottle. I own a couple of these types of bottles already so I wasn’t too excited to see this in my box. The concept of the bottle is nice, especially if you like infused water. The bottle has a nice looking design, is leak-proof and dishwasher safe. It’s easy to use; simply unscrew the bottom cup, flip the vessel on the top cap, and press a citrus half into the reamer. Screw back on the bottom lid, add water through the cap opening, shake and enjoy. I did grab a bag of lemons today as I hear that lemon water is a good way to begin your day… I plan to at least get some use out of it. The product sells for 9.99 on Zingo’s site so again I’m perplexed by PSMH’s retail value, I suppose they may be adding the $2.95 per order shipping cost.
Here is what it looks like disassembled.
Well… I’m left with mixed emotions on this one, again. On one hand, the value discrepancies bug me, while I am aware that PSMH has no control over a product being offered at a reduced price, I just feel that the value is pretty low. On another hand, I do love the moisturizer and will likely snag another since Ulta has it for half the price. Essentially I’m looking at it as: I purchased the moisturizer (Ulta’s price on the moisturizer and the must have mini box cost are the same) and got a water bottle as a free gift… I have not peeked at the full sized must have spoilers, so here’s to hoping for a great one!
